Default New Thoughts On The Brady Bunch Variety Hour

I recently purchased and viewed the Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Now I know why the show failed to catch on. For being an hour show, it was kind of boring. A half an hour would have been enough and might have caught on. I liked the format, the way they intergrated their home life with their variety show. An hour was just too long, especially if you have a short attention span. I couldn't get use to the new Jan, she got on my nerves. All she did was whine in the first episode.

Although it was rubbish, I did like it but I suppose that was because it was a chance of watching new Brady stuff. Some of the songs were good, # Everybody, get on the floor...and dance!

All Variety Shows were 60 min during that time. I don't think no Variety show was 30 min during the 70's

That's true, but it didn't work for this show. They should have tried something new and went with the 30 min format instead.

Flip Wilson is 30 min on TV LAND, on NBC in the 70's it was 60 minutes

Oh really? I didn't know that. I knew when Carol Burnett was on it was edited but I didn't think Filp Wilson was to.

Yep, TV LAND reduces all the Variety shows they air from 60 to 30 mins. And that is just too much missing footage for me

They did the same thing with The Sonny And Cher Show too.

I tried watching the Flip Wilson show with the Jackson Five as a Guest and I was waiting for a certain scene with Flip and the Jacksons and never saw it due to the HEAVY CHOPPING Of the TV LAND Editing Interns-lol
