Are there any fans of him here?

I've never seen him play...he was born in 1954, and died in 1994, when I was six - so I never got a chance to see him play. But I like John McEnroe, and the two of them were good friends. At one time, I believe Gerulaitis was the number 3 player.

I became interested in tennis last year, and after reading John McEnroe's autobiography, I've become interested in the players that were prominent around the time that Mac himself was playing. So yeah, I'm quite interested in Vitas Gerulaitis. It's a shame he died so young.

Not really but I remember watching some of the games on tv.
