I would like to say hello to everyone as I am new to the 3's Company boards!!I totally love this show!! It is one of the greatest shows of all-time!! I read another 3's Company message board elsewhere, and all they did was trash the show & put it down. The show ran for 8 years- almost a decade- and was a huge success- save for the last season. Most shows "last seasons" are their worst anyway as everyone is tired and ready to move on to other projects. They kept putting down all the casting changes (Cindy, Terri, Mr. Furley, etc..) & the charactor actors recurring roles( ex. Jeffrey Tambor 3 to 4 different times). One thing to keep in mind is I was only 9 years old in 1977 when 3's Company debuted, and 16 in 1984 when it ended. When you watched the shows first hand, you never paid attention to those charactor actors recurring roles, or the supporting actor changes (Chrissy to Cindy, etc..), or the bloopers or little mistakes that were left in. Because they mainly happened seasons apart. The only reason we all see that stuff now is because of TV Land running all the episodes in rotation, or we all have the season by season DVD's. We all watched it strictly because IT WAS FUNNY & MADE US LAFF!!! No matter who was the "charactor actor" or supporting cast, the show was strictly John Ritter's. He's the one that made it all work and held it all together. He is truly one of the best physical comedians in the history of TV. He is sorely missed. Thank you John Ritter for giving us Jack Tripper. If the show was so bad by that other message boards "standards" & all the casting changes and recurring character actors, how did it run for almost a decade and basically stayed in the top 10 in ratings for the duration of the show- except the last season- ??? The facts don't lie:
Season Rank 1. 1977 11 - Only 1 spot from the top 10, one of the highest rated debut shows in TV history!!! 2. 1977-78 3 3. 1978-79 2 4. 1979-80 2 5. 1980-81 8 6. 1981-82 4 7. 1982-83 6 8. 1983-84 31 3's Company Rules!!! One of the best ever!!! Thank you for your time.
