Post Classic PBS

Remember when the only thing they showed was:
Barney
Sesame Street
Ghostwriter
Author
3-2-1 Contact
and Charlie Rose?

Those were the great days.

Don't Forget Electric Company and Zoom. Those were great.

Actually I have a question for any of you who grew up in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT) There were a couple of spanish children's shows on PBS in the 70's. Does anybody remember them? If so what were they called.

Square One! Great show! They had a parody of "Dragnet" even, they called it "Mathnet."
I loved Carmen San Diego, that is on some locals even now. How could you guys forget Reading Rainbow??
Shining Time Station I think was Thomas the Train, I think FOX Family showed that last.
Right now Clifford and Arthur rule PBS.

Tell me about 'Thomas the Train'. It sounds like a show we had in the UK in the 80's called 'Thomas the Tank Engine'.

I loved that show! I remember in fourth grade, my teacher use to go CRAZY over that show. She'll bring us to the school library and we'd watch an episode every week of the school year. Sometimes, repeats, but oh well, lol..

The show is just about a bunch of trains, lol.. All of them looked very wooden/toyish. Let me see... there was Mavis, that red one, Percy the green one, Annie, the Squary-brown one, Terence the orange dude, and Bertie, the other red one, then Thomas, the blue guy, LOL. And Toby, and Gordon, and my favorite, Harold the helicopter, tee hee. Hope I didn't forget anyone.

Describe 'Reading Rainbow' for me too. 'Rainbow' was another classic UK TV show in the 80's.
