Default Truly "perfect" sitcom moments?

Are there certain points in series where everything just clicks perfectly.... and the joke is truly laugh out loud hysterical that you can't help but think.... wow, that was amazing.

For me....

In the Cheers episode "Home Is The Sailor" (Rebecca's 1st episode) when the old regulars all come from the different parts of the bar ordering a "Screaming Viking" to get rid of the new bartender so Sam can get his job back.

And on The Cosby Show, in a later episode (not sure of the title), from Season 7 or 8 when Cliff, Elvin, & Martin have a contest to see who is more romantic.... and Cliff tells the story of a barret (spelling?) that Claire wanted, only to have her shut him down by telling him that she never wanted the barret, some other girl did, and if he really knew her he would know that she wanted a green bracelet.... only to have her open the box and find the green bracelet. You could hear the audience explode with laughter and cheers.... as did most of my family this afternoon when we watched on TV. Quite possibly the greatest moment of the series (other than the "I brought you in this world, I'll take you out" conversation Cliff has with Theo in the pilot of course)

Mash:
Hawk Eye & Margaret hooking up in a burnt down shack while they were being bombed, they were both scared to death and needed each other...

Ellen
telling everyone she was gay at an airport over a loudspeaker, it was crazy, because I loved the show, but had no idea she was like that (i was very young at the time..lol)

Seinfeld:
The puerto Rican Day Episode...just knowing that the next episode would be the last was kinda sad, i still love this episode the most..even though it was almost banned for having a flag burning in it....

WKRP, "As God as my witness, I thought turkey's could fly."

Niles's little meltdown in Cafe Nervosa in a season 11 Frasier episode, I think it was called "Murder Most Maris" when he is informed that Roz took the last straw.

Phyllis confronting Sue Ann Nivens in Betty White's first episode of Mary Tyler Moore, "The Lars Affair."

there are many others, but those are three from the top of my head.

Following up w/ Josh's post about "Mary Tyler Moore," I'd def. have to add Chuckles the Clown's funeral. You can't get much better than that, hehe.

The "damn damn damn" moment on Good Times when Florida realized James was really gone. Okay, so it wasn't laugh out loud hysterical or anything, but I do think it was a perfect (dramatic) moment on a sitcom. I thought it was amazing.

I've never cared much for the show itself but I think we can all agree that All in the Family had several, but the obvious one that comes to mind is when Sammy Davis Jr. kisses Archie as they are taking a picture together.

The "Password" episode of "The Odd Couple."

Oscar: Aristophanies!

If you know the episode, you know why that's a classic!

That was great! I loved the look on Oscar's face when he said it.

One sitcom moment that I've always thought was perfect was from a "Dick Van Dyke Show" episode called "That's My Boy???" when the couple that Rob believes to be the real parents of his and Laura's new baby (due to a hospital mix-up) show up at the door. The audience's reaction seemed to go on forever.

Yup, that was classic! lol I remember when we discussed Aristophanes in one of my classes in College, I thought of Felix right away, hehe.

Oh, I just thought of another one. The famous "What does a yellow light mean?" scene from Taxi! That's def. got to be one of the funniest things of all time!

A Tie between two episodes of Roseanne, "A Stash From The Past" & "Homeward Bound" (Both Season 6 with only 2 episodes inbetween them)

In "A Stash From The Past" the whole 7-8 minute bathroom scene makes it easily one of the best Roseanne episodes...

In "Homeward Bound", The way the whole episode is written about such an ackward subject is brilliant and shines light on the real humor scene, This is easily Sara Gilbert's best lines from the whole series and that is hard to say when she has had so many great lines...

Party Politics is also a notable episode which aired one episode before "A Stash From The Past"

Okay, you've all mentioned the obvious, but believe it or not, one that I like was from The Nanny, where Cher was supposed to be in one of Max Sheffield's plays, and is getting hounded by the press. Needless to say they need some way of distracting them. Fran tells him about Uncle Ira the Cher impersonater, and he looks nothing like her.

Okay, so my memory's a little vague on this one.

I agree with that. It's arguably the funniest scene from that show.

Niles ironing his pants to go out on a date, cutting himself, setting the couch on fire, etc. The funniest 5 minutes on TV.

Still Standing, when the son was dressed up in a mascot suit, the expressions through the suit as Bill was talking was unbelievable.

That one episode of Three's Company when Janet get's harrassed by that creep dancer, who Jack warned her about. Then he goes to her and says "May I have this dance", and she starts crying.....I get all teary every time I watch that scene.

Mostly all of the Paul Hennessey/Bridget/Kerri scenes on 8 Simple Rules.

And the scene in All In The Family's "California Here We Come pt 2", when Mike tells Archie that he loves him.
