Default Ralph the Doorman

Did anybody find this character funny? I thought he was so dull and boring.

He was OK. Like Mother Jefferson he was unlikable but he added something to the show especially in the later years when the cast was reduced. He is an odd case of someone being a recurring player for 11 seasons (the bartender was like that too although Ralph was in more episodes). Until a few years ago I thought that the doorman in the opening credits was Ralph, but since they didn't have any of the regular supporting players in the original credits it wouldn't have been right for Ralph to be there, although that other guy sure looks like him.

Ralph was dull, but it was funny how he always had his hand out, and how George would slam the door in his face. Cracked me up every time.

Yes, why would he slamm the door in Ralph's face when Ralph doing things for him?-lol I think the only time he slammed the door in Ralph's face was because Ralph didn't lie the right way or cause George to look stupid. But that was it.
