Default What do you think was the reason for the Allen character?

I don't understand the reason of giving Jenny a brother/Willis' a son if he was only shown on a rare occasion...so why do you think they even bothered to do this? To give some sort of reason to give a biracial couple one white and one black child?

It really was pointless to have him on the show. I guess he was there to be yet another "white" character for George to butt heads with. Except this time, there was a twist, he was half black.

Well if they had keep that first Allan Willis that would have been so enjoyable. I don' remember the second Alan willis butting heads with George like the first one. Classic exchange below

Alan: I dug where you was coming yesterday chump and you ain't cool

George: Say What?

Alan: I say your teeth are yellow and your breath is bad, get out of my face before you wish you had

George: You better get off my back and leave me alone because the teeth you save will be your own

Alan: Look if it wasn't for the fact that you were five foot two, like white on rice I'll be all over you

George: Look when you are in my house u better show some respect with your elephant ears and chicken neck

Alan: If you want respect you got to earn it, so cover your nose before I burn it

George: Look at this elite n***ger wolfing at my door, with your yellow behind i'm going to wipe up the entire floor

Yeah, I think too that since both parents were interracial and since they had a fully black daughter, it would seem fair to add a fully white son. It seems like tokenism, but it made sense.

Alan Willis(Jay Hammer) didn't bring anything to the show other than a body. He seemed like he was someone they added because both Lionels weren't on the show.

There was a point, at least with his first appearence. When he was brought in about as a regular, I think it was less about him being half-black and half-white, they just needed somebody to fill the space with there being no Lionel and it made sense to bring in a character that had already been introduced.

I still don't understand why was Jenny needed after the second Lionel left.

Well, she might have been still under contract and they had to keep her on.
