Who is your Favorite Crime and Mystery lead Character
During Cinema's golden years many memorable characters emerged of which I and many oters enjoyed.
Charle Chan, with both Warner Oaland, and Sidney Toler remain favorites, also Boris Karloff's character of Mr. Wong and Peter Lorre in Mr. Moto but my two favorite mystery characters remain Dame Margaret Rutherford who in the 60's made 4 Miss Marple movies, just superb, and even earlier in the 30's, Edna Mae Oliver as Hildegarde Withers, a spinster school teacher who solves murders. If you have the opportunity try to see them. I also enjoyed Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and more recent David Souchet as Hercule Piriot. Have any favorites? Harvey |
