Not counting your parents who played the greatest role in influencing you most? It may be someone who you had or have a relationship with or someone you read or heard about.
When I was about 7 or 8 I had a friend who developed cancer. He never complained thou there were times that pain was etched on his face. He always remained cheerful even to the end. From him I was taught to live one day at a time, and take time out to smell the coffee, and enjoy life. Harvey |

There are some famous people I really admire - the Beatles and the Bee Gees - and I know one person who I consider to be special. He has a great personality, he's really friendly and intelligent, and he's just great.

hmm, good question but I really don't know who. There are lots of people I look up to now based on there pasts. It might be a little bit of a lot of people rolled into one. I don't know these people personality of course but you can still learn from them. Larry Hagman drank his weight in booze and it all caught up to him. he almost died he was lucky to survive his liver transplant. The Same goes for Jack Klugman on smoking. All that bad stuff will catch up to you so why start.
You said not including your parents, but I really believe everything I am today is because of them. |

My biggest influence is my friend. His mother was killed in a car accident when he was 2. His father remarried the following year. When he was 5, his father was killed in a hit and run and he was left with his stepmother. His stepmother remarried about 2 years later and he moved to Florida. He came back to New York after about a year. He used to always get into trouble. Eventually, we were in the same class and our math teacher knew he had it rough so she would stay after school to help him with his work. Because of our 7th grade math teacher, my friend changed his attitude and became a straight A student. The point to the story: there is always someone who has it rougher than you.

For me it was a group of people, my cadet corp when I was 13-19. Prior to cadets I was very timid and severely lacking cofidence. After years in cadets I learned to discipline, comradarie, teamwork and leadership skills that I still use 20 years later.
I made lifelong friends and we were a great support system for each other learning many life lessons along the way. |

I think Amy Lee, Emmy Rossum, and Billie Joe Armstrong are the biggest infulences on my music.
But in my normal life, I'd have to say my dad. He's awesome. |

John Ritter, Katey Sagal, John Larroquette, Harry Anderson, Paul McCartney, Billy Graham, James Dobson, and my best friend Courtney.
Courtney is an influence in my life because she keeps on going, no matter what. When she was 21, she married a black guy against her families wishes, because she's white, and they had a son. Her husband turned out to be abusive, and they were divorced. People at church constantly ridiculed her for having a mixed child. Some church members even told her not to bring him to church at all, but she kept coming. She's now almost 24 and her son is almost 3. I love her and her son to death!! |

My oldest brother, Bill. He is 13 years older than I am, and he always seemed invincible to me. He excelled in all sports, and always kept his cool. Growing up, I always bragged to my peers about my oldest brother. He just seemed to do no wrong. My mother even seemed to show some kind of favortism towards him. Matter of fact, back in the day, he inspired me to have my movie collection. In 1987, when he got out of the Air Force, he brought home all these boxes of VHS movies he taped. Back then, we didn't have cable, and people really didn't have VCRs in their homes yet, and it was unheard of for anyone to have movies like that in their home. So now, I have VHSs and DVDs in my collection, thanks to my brother Bill. He was truly an inspiration.

My husband tells me that I am getting more like my late daddy everyday(genetics I guess). And I take that as a compliment! But I never really have been influenced in my opinions by anyone. I am my own person. But the good thing is that my husband and I think alike(politics/religion etc.) in a lot of ways. And that's a good thing, We rarely argue. I know when to shut up and so does he

I can think of someone in particular, but it would sound just silly. This person has been like a rock during a weird era for me last July when I found out some certain news. I just hit the roof with them! And this person, I would say, has really helped me (without knowing/realizing it) keep my head on my shoulders in various ways. I wish this person can just "listen" to me about explaining this. I just thank them for "being there" without even knowing it. Long and weird story, actually....
