Default Will we ever know the real truth about the ratings for the 1978-79 TV season?

It's so many different stories, in the Complete Directory Book has Laverne/Shirley edging out Three's Company as the number 1 show at 30. 5 and TC was 30.3

In the Three's Company Book by Chris Mann, it stated that Three's Company edged out L&S as the number 1 show with a 30.1 rating

What is the real story?- Can we just say both shows was the MVP of the 78-79 season? Most Valuable Program-lol

You would think it would be L&S just because it was already an established hit, but who knows.

I think it was L&S Too because of all these changes at the start of season 4

1. Lana
2. Producers wanted new landlord completely from Ropers
3.Less Cinservative Janet
4.Sexier Chrissy

78-79 would only be sesason 3.

Season 1 was 77
Season 2 was 77-78
Season 3 was 78-79

I think TC won because it had more viewers that season than L&S. It was a close finish in the Nielsen rating dept. The top 3 shows were all on ABC Tuesday that season from 8 to 9:30.

I know, I was saying since the producers got the word at the end of the 78-79 season that L&S was #!, at the start of the 79-80 which was season 4 is why they made all the changes

I think most sources say L&S was #1 by a inch.

It's the time period. Mork and Mindy was number three and we know A LOT is better than that. Monday Night Football only came in 28th place that year.

I think TC had it's best season that year. Maybe they would have gotten #1 if they wouldn't have left the air early to spin off The Ropers.

That's a good point because L&S season did not end until Mid May, TC's season that year ended in Mid March
