Default Who has seen the new Superman

I just saw it yesterday and thought it was well done. It stayed very true to the original story following 5 years after Superman 2 (they pretend 3&4 did not exist which is just as well).

Some of my friends have been disapointed as they compare it to the new Xmen, Spiderman and Batman. I do not think you can put it in with these as there is no where near the action. the big drawback with Supernman is that he is invulnerable so it is hard to have epic battle sequences. I found the story to be well done and Kevin Spacey was excellent.

The chemistry with Superman/Lois was alright but I think Kidder and Reeves pulled it off better. Overall I thought it was good but you have to expect to see the story of Superman and not a ton of action scenes or you may be disappointed.

What did you guys think?

Lex

Thumbs up loved the film

loved the film, routh is so similar to reeve in appearance and mannerisms

spacey was excellent, plot was well thought out

my only complaint was the ending was anti-climatic
no real finale to speak of
and was disappointed that the door was opened wider for lois and superman to rekindle the relationship

i kept hoping her fiancee would die somehow and open the door for the two of them

It may be strange but my favorite two Superman's were the two serials, Superman and Superman VS Atom Man, from 1948 and 1950. They featured in the lead Kirk Allyn as the man of steel and in 52 when they decided to make a tv series from it, Allyn refused the part as he diodn't want to be typecast. Kirk slipped into oblivion and George Reeves got the role and is still remembered to this day. To me, really a brutal actor.

I'll probably see it. I liked the first two Superman movies, though I have not seen them since the late 1980's or early 1990's. I hated the third one with Richard Pryor.

Its nice to give an opinon on a new movie release but please keep in mind that its not nice to give too much of the story away as alot of people have not seen supeman returns yet. I plan on seeing it monday and will give my opinion on this movie as well without giving any of the story away. Thank You
