Default Even I didn't know about these things

This is the only info I could find about this was at the IMDB.

In 1962, Alan Hale starred in an unsold pilot for a proposed CBS sitcom called "Mighty O". The plot revolved around the adventures of a couple of veteran petty officers on-board a Coast Guard vessel "Ortega" hence the nickname "The Mighty O".

Imagine if that had been sold, maybe it would have been someone else as the Skipper

Here is one for Jim Backus

In 1960, he starred in the first pilot for the CBS sitcom, "Father of the Bride". The pilot was tossed onto the scrap heap and reshot. When the series finally hit the network in 1961, he was replace by Leon Ames.

If you didn't know about them, GF, they must be awfully obscure!!

I wouldn't be surprised if your collection of GI and related things is the most extensive in the world.

Do you know what year for the GI episodes? If it's the originals it would put my cut episodes paranoia to rest.

ph1! you will be amazed when you read this http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=183801

And pictures from the Mighty-O will soon be in my GF is Proud to Present thread. I didn't realize that show was a comedy, I had a feeling it was a drama but it isn't. Reminds me a lot of McHales Navy

I am a little amazed. I didn't think the opening titles would have been different.
Have you had time to see if there is any extra footage from the original airings compared to the DVD release.

I didn't either, I wonder why I don't remember ever reading about it being different.

I'll check it out tomorrow, I got to work as soon as I am done with school today.

This may sound dumb, but I figured the easiset way to see if there was any missing scenes would be to edit out the commercials. They run same length has the DVD, so you can now rest ph1!, the DVDs are completly uncut.
