Question What Do you do with the spindells when you are out of disks?

Just wondering because I go through a lot of disks (I am sure nowhere near as many as all of you of course) but I have about 6 or 7 50 pack spindells taking up space. I don't do that many huge trades, I think the biggest one I did was 8 or 9 disks so I can't really send them out in them. I keep getting more and more since I am burning so much more now. What do you all do with them besides send disks in them for big trades.

Default May I Take Your Coat?

You can nail 'em to the wall and hang your coat and hat. Instant coat hangers, and stylish too.

Put a hook in them and hang as Christmas ornaments. Of course, you can decorate them, either by painting, or sticking cute little things inside. Now before any of you go and do this, be forewarned that I am in the process of getting a patent, and I will sue you if you don't pay me handsomely for using MY idea!!!

i try to use them to ship big trades in
BUT u never have enough trades to use them all
and they are so awkward and take up tons of space in the trash can

if you buy taiyo yuden from shop4tech.com they are shipped
in 100 packs
WITH NO SPINDLES, just shrinkwrapped
so i buy those, and then when i open a pack, i slide it onto the old spindle

that way i save tons of trash space and dont have 15 extra bags a week

I wish they would have it where you could unscrew the top (actual holder) so it would fall into two parts and take up less space that way.

That's an excellent idea. I've been reusing them for some trades, but I don't tend to do really large ones, so I've been accumulating the 50-disc spindles lately. I haven't gotten the tape wrapped discs before, but I'm prepping an order as I type ... :>

Make the center piece pointy and use it for parking tickers

I tos them out and I'll tell you why. Near my home is a 99 cent shop( all items 99 cents or less) The have plastic sleves like the case logic ones but a little thinner, a 50 pack for a buck. That's two sides or 100 pockets. I now use them for sending and storage. Even in shipping you save some coins. Weigh much less then the copy machine paper I folded over and previously used. Ten pieces of copy machine paper really add up in weight. With the Flat rate priority envelope, $4.05, I can with these plastic sleeves send up to 85 disks.

Default well

This year for the holidays, I kept the pancake spindles and cases-
and made sets for my friends.

I then took art supplies, glitter etc- and gingerbread icing/candy.

I made several sets- and used the plastic on top- the dome part to decorate.

So they got this round chrsitmasy gingerbread house-
and then inside were movies, or shows I did for them.
Or scanned photos into a slideshow presentation for my older relatives.

They get the discs, plus a cute keepsake container.

I did one for my friends birthday as well using sponge foam art- and made it liek a birthday cake
and inside it, did various shows from her entire life form 1975 to present.
She keeps the discs in there, on her dresser

You could do this for any holiday with any size spindle.
The 25's are great for photos to be scanned, for kids to give grandparents-
or so on.

I know I know it sounds Hokey.

that sounds like a very good idea Savage. Very personal touch. I stink at arts and crafts, but my sister is preety good at them. Maybe I can pass them onto her and she can do what you described.

What I do is when I get a complete series I put it in a spindle (if its shorter series and not alot of discs you could put 2-3 series complete in it). Then with a black marker I write on the round part what it is and then store them in a walk in closet facing outward. Then when I do a trade and someone wants for example Full House, I just get that spindle out and keep it out till I'm done and then stick it back. That way your series are kept togther and its alot easier to find them but I'm sure how your store your DVDs is a whole new topic. LOL.

I use mine to fill them with disks that I get in from trades, the paper sleeves I re-use.
