Default Rank these 4 (or 5) Stevie Wonder albums

Ridiculous. Just ridiculous the way Stevie Wonder came out with great album after great album in the 70s. (Not counting Music of My Mind) from 1972 to 1974, Stevie released these four classics back to back. If you don't have/haven't heard these four albums, you need to. And if you have, rank them, with #1 your favorite and #4 your least favorite.

Talking Book

1. You Are The Sunshine Of My Life
2. Maybe Your Baby
3. You And I
4. Tuesday Heartbreak
5. You've Got It Bad Girl
6. Superstition
7. Big Brother
8. Blame It On The Sun
9. Lookin' For Another Pure Love
10. I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)

Innervisions

1. Too High
2. Visions
3. Living For The City
4. Golden Lady
5. Higher Ground
6. Jesus Children Of America
7. All In Love Is Fair
8. Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
9. He's Misstra Know-It-All

Fulfillingness' First Finale

1.Smile Please
2.Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away
3.Too Shy to Say
4.Boogie on Reggae Woman
5.Creepin'
6.You Haven't Done Nothin'
7.It Ain't No Use
8.They Won't Go When I Go
9.Bird of Beauty
10.Please Don't Go

Songs In The Key Of Life

1.Love's in Need of Love Today
2.Have a Talk with God
3.Village Ghetto Land
4.Contusion
5.Sir Duke
6.I Wish
7.Knocks Me Off My Feet
8.Pastime Paradise
9.Summer Soft
10.Ordinary Pain
11.Isn't She Lovely
12.Joy Inside My Tears
13.Black Man
14.Ngiculela - Es Una Historia/I Am Singing
15.If It's Magic
16.As
17.Another Star
18.Saturn
19.Ebony Eyes
20.All Day Sucker
21.Easy Goin' Evening (My Mama's Call)

Innervisions was the first Stevie album I ever bought, so I'm partial to that one. Plus, it has my favorite Stevie song on it, Golden Lady.

1. Innervisions
2. Songs In The Key Of Life
3. Talking Book
4. Fulfillingness' First Finale

I'd put it like this:

1. Innervisions
2. Talking Book
3. Fulfillingness' First Finale
4. Songs In The Key Of Life

As good as Songs is, I think the others are stronger.

Yeah, my bad, Songs was '76. Brain fart on my part.

I've been listening to Songs a lot lately, concentrating on the songs I wasn't so familiar with. I love Ordinary Pain (both halves), and Village Ghetto Land.

So far Fulfillingness' isn't in anyone's top 2, but that is a great album. Shows you how good they all were.

(For those of you who've heard it) if I stretched it out to a list of 5 and included Music of My Mind, how would your list look? I just bought MOMM on cd yesterday. My parents had the vinyl album since it came out, but I hadn't listened to it since I was a child, so I finally got my own cd copy for my collection. I'll have to give it a few spins before I rank it.

Music of My Mind

1 Love Having You Around
2 Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You)
3 I Love Every Little Thing About You
4 Sweet Little Girl
5 Happier Than the Morning Sun
6 Girl Blue
7 Seems So Long
8 Keep on Running
9 Evil

Although Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You) will always be one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs, I have to put Music of My Mind at the bottom out of these five. He improved by leaps and bounds from this album to Talking Book.

Also after listening to SITKOL more, I'm inching it up above Fulfillingness. So here's my list:

1. Innervisions
2. Talking Book
3. Songs In The Key Of Life
4. Fulfillingness' First Finale
5. Music of My Mind
