Congrats on once again comparing apples to apples!

While I prefer STP, I think that Alice in Chains was a more revolutionary band and did more for grunge in general than STP.

STP, please. "Wicked Garden" and "Creep" are 90's rock classics.

I got in major trouble when I was 13 for playing my STP cd somewhere in the listening distance of my grandmother or it might have been watching MTV (when it was good). Now that I think about it, I think she heard both. Later on, my dad's mother (the one who heard whatever I was playing) and my mom's dad ripped into my dad about how awful today's music was for a 13 year old to listen too. I was there trying to crawl under my chair. My Dad just told me to use better judgement when my Grandparents were around and if he ever got me watching MTV when any of my Grandparents were there I would not like the results. I've heard Alice In Chains before, but STP was one of the first groups (Nirvana was the other one) that I said, "Hey Dad, listen to this." So STP definitely.

No, I was serious. No making fun intended!

OT, leslie, I'd have to argue that MTV was NOT good anymore by the time STP came out. In my humble opinion, MTV stopped being good around 1987 or 1988.

Alice In Chains. It's a damn tragedy that nobody seemed to care when Layne Staley died, when as a rock fan from the 90's, his death hit as hard as Left Eye's did, and she died the same week and everyone cared when she died.
