The date was 1973 in california a city called south gate, there was this department store called TWO GUYS and The cast of the brady bunch were there signing autographs and promoting there records there, I was 11 at the time and like alot of kids didnt read the credits on the tv shows so when I met the cast I of course called them by their TV Names, and as with susan mike and chris I called barry greg and everyone kept yelling to me that his name is barry not greg, anyhow barry chris and susan were sitting on these 3 chairs that were surounded by tables and there were 2 small openings for the line to go in and get an autograph and go out, I however got up on the one table that was directly behind barry and was actually breathing on his neck and he looked at me like I was nuts and still i kept calling him greg, and he finally yelled out to me, kid my name is barry I only play greg on tv and if you want an autograph please get in line and stop breathing on me, well I thought greg I mean Barry was so cool so when I went around to get in line I had seen mike lookinland in the toy isle that was near the autograph signing and it was so cool people were taking poloroids of susan and all the others, the only bradys there were Barry, Chris Mike and susan, so I did manage to get barrys autograph which I still have to this day and I did say I was sorry for breathing on him and he smiled and said its cool kid no harm done, and that was my meeting with barry williams.
Of course I think to most of us he will always be greg anyway. |

That's funny. It reminds me of an old David Letterman show from the early or mid 80's. Letterman used to have a segment called "Brush With Greatness," where he would speak to audience members who had met famous people. One guy told about being a kid and standing in line at an amusement park ride. He had accidentally cut in front of another kid who got angry, who he discovered was Barry Williams when he looked back at him. He said they almost got into a fight.
