Default Big Brother All-Stars, maybe not a good thing?

As a watcher of all previous Big Brother editions, I must admit that when I first heard of an "All-Star" edition I was quite excited, but given it further examination I think the whole idea could be a disaster....here's why....

The reason the show works so well is the element of surprise for the participants....unless producers are going to shake things up dramatically, the guests will be "on guard" regarding their activities....all-stars aren't starving for fame as much the second time around.....count nudity out (webfeeds), these guests believe they are famous already and aren't going to act like a typical guest who is getting a shot at being on TV for the first time and feels the need to be outrageous.

Clicks will already be established and likely exploited over and over...yes the prospect of a Janelle, Howie, Kaysar reunion is exciting, but likely history will repeat itself with them being the first targets.....meaning Kaysar out in first 2 weeks

I think the house will probably again be divided in two groups (like last years) but each season all star cast is likely to bond with each other, possibily making for very boring TV....they should have possibily thrown in 6 new guests with 6 all stars, it just seems this edition might really need some stirring up. thoughts anyone?

I disagree. I'm worried, too, I'll admit that, but if the right 12 players get in, it could be a battle back and forth each week that will be fascinating to watch. I just dread players like Cowboy, Mike, Bunky getting in... yuck.

We'll probably have the most explosive summer ever, IMO. And numbers don't matter in the game of BIG BROTHER. It's luck. Power shifts each week. There's HOH, veto ... anyone can become HOH if luck (and brains) are on their side. Nothing's a guarantee, which makes BB so much fun to watch, compared to Survivor (my all-time favorite reality show), in which having the numbers DOES matter.

Don't get me wrong, I want this to work, but I also wanted every TV show cast reunion movie to be good too and they never are.....I just think the houseguests will be too familiar and on guard with the show and its other participants....strangers getting to know eachother might just be the key to the success of big brother and there might just be something to the old saying "You can't go home again".

I completely disagree. I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises. Strategies will have to be changed...things will be different. The BB6 trio is not going to be the only target. What about Will? People know how he is now. They aren't going to let him slide by doing what he did last time. There's also the factor that he was already a winner. There will be plenty of targets. It's even possible that alliances will be broken, and new ones will be formed.

Yes that is my point, yes obviously winner's will be targets, (just like in Survivor all-stars) actually everyone is a target in BB, new and old alliances will be broken and created, but looking at it from a deeper point of view, pre-conceived opinions about people could hurt the show rather than strangers getting to know eachother, and again my real point is that these people know the drill and feel like they are celebrities already, so being on guard could ruin certain aspects of the show....I sincerely doubt anyone will have sex with eachother or walk around nude....the vouyer aspect might be lessoned. That is my main point.

I really don't think most of them feel like they are celebrities. Once they hit the real world again after the show, that whole thing quickly fades. I also don't see what walking around nude has to do with anything. I don't think anyone even does that, and if they do, they don't even show it on the live feeds (perhaps with the exception of Howie joking around one day last year). Though, I hardly see how that adds anything to the show.

We don't necassarily need to see house guests acting crazy so that they can be famous. With house guests like Howie and Jase together it may be better it they wern't so extreme. I think some people will still do outragous things to try to get attention anyway.

I also don't think it will matter if the houseguest aren't suprised by how the game works. It will be exciting enough to see all of the best houseguests together. I wonder how some of the people will get along together.

Even if alliances form It won't matter who has the numbers. Thats what I love about this game.

A problem will be that the best players will probably targeted early on because everyone will know how good they are. It will be interesting to see people use new strategies.

At this point I stand by everything I said in my above original post, so far the show and webfeeds are a snooze.....all the previous houseguests are all extremely paranoid, on-guard and boring! And yes as predicted BB6 guests are being targeted the most.

So far I'm really liking the show. It is wierd because in past seasons I was rooting for most of these people and now I have to choose which ones to root for. I think it's interesting to see how people interact with people from other seasons.

Major League Baseball, the NBA, the WNBA, the NHL, the NFL's Pro Bowl, Major League Soccer, Major League Lacrosse, National Lacrosse League, and NASCAR's NEXTEL All-Star Challenge via the NEXTEL Open qualifiers are such examples of All-Star Competition. Survivor had an All-Star competition in season 2003-2004.

So, why not Big Brother?!

Those targeting the Big Brother 6 participants are a bunch of cowards and need to step up to the plate

I am LOVING this edition, and cannot wait for each episode! I did have some issues with the prospects of an All-Star season at times, but overall I always liked the idea.

It was so hard to wait without the Sunday episode.

I think it makes sense to target the season six people because the are the strongest alliance. I don't like it but it's the right thing to do.

I agree that it makes sense to take out the season 6 alliance....but maybe others should try to team up with them instead? Anways, I wish they wouldn't target Season 6 'cause I love Jennell, Howie, and Kaysar! I was too happy Ali got out and Kaysar got HOH....I bet he puts up Boogie and Will!
