Default Writer's goof up!

I was watching the 2nd season episode where Fred's lottery number came in. With his winnings he tells Lamont that Bubba is taking him to the airport and he's going to Las Vegas. Then in season 3's "Superflyer" all of a sudden he's terrified of flying! The writers need to pay attention to past episodes!

Also, in the first season when Lamont is about to get married, the pastor refers to him as "Lamont Grady Sanford" but in a later season, Fred tells Lamont that Lamont is actually his middle name and that they never got around to giving him a first name.

This show did seem to have a slight trace of "Twilight Zone" in it during those last 2 years.

I noticed that too....maybe the writers didnt know his middle name was already revealed in the first season as being Grady, but Demond Wilson, or Redd should have corrected them, the bit about his middle name being Lamont wasnt very funny anyway, IMO....

Great observation! What a goof-up!

I used to travel by air a lot, but had a terrible experience on an airplane 15 years ago, and I haven't flown since. Also, people can develop phobias.

Fred seemed fine though traveling first class to Hawaii; that is until he got home and got the bill for the plane tickets!!

There were a few writer goof-ups that I can recall. In the Libra Rising All Over Lamont episode , Lamont goes to an astrologist and it's revealed that he is a Libra (Sept-October). Then in the Christmas special (Ebenezer Sanford), Lamont mentions his birthday is in February.

Also, I thought it was odd that they used the same actor to play the kid in the Christmas special and then used him to play Woody and Esther's adopted son, Daniel. I know they often used the same actors to play many different minor parts throughout the series, but Daniel had a more noteworthy role than other minor characters, IMO.

in that episode Lamont says he was born in 1940, in a later episode he says he was born in 1942....

In the second episode when Lamont takes Fred out for his birthday, Fred makes such a fuss at the Chinese restaurant complaining about the food, etc. Yet, many times in later episodes they reference going out to eat in Chinatown, or they talk about the great meal they had at a Chinese restaurant.
