Default Anyone know of any good hair straightening products?

I've been trying to get my hair a little straighter. It has a natural wave in it, which I don't care for too much, I've tried a straightening iron and it works a little, but not extremely well and I was wondering if there's some hair gels or straightening products I could use that would help. Anyone have any suggestions?

I get my hair chemically straightened. It's slightly expensive ($60-ish), but SO worth it. It makes your hair so much easier to straighten with a flat iron and my hair isn't damaged at all from it.

No, but I wish I did because I'd like to get my hands on something that will tame this tangled mess I have for hair. I've tried everything under the sun and nothing works, especially in this humid weather. When I get around to it I'm going to have it professionally straightned at the salon. I too have one of those irons but all it does is make my hair more frizzy than it already is and dries it all out. I've seen infomercials for this new straightener called the MaxiGlide. It looks pretty good and combs your hair while it straightens it. I don't want to buy one because my hair is so kinky that I don't think it would work but since you only have a wave to your hair you would probably get good results with it.

I want to have that done. After you have it done do you still have to use a straightener everyday?

Yeah but it doesn't take nearly as long. It's so much easier.

My mom had hers straightened at the salon with some stuff they usually use on black people's hair. It's a big tub of stuff. You could go to a local salon products store (like Sally Beauty Supply) and inquire about products.

OMG... they did that to me one time,a nd it FRIED my hair... I do not recommend that to anyone unles they have thick hair like most black people have. That woman had NO buisness doing that to my hair, with my hair type.

Now, as far as the other straigntner goes, like they use the perm solution and comb your hair, that works wonderful. I loved it!

anything from john frieda works well. and hair gel.

I"ve had my hair chemically done before. It was a hell of a lot easier. I need to have it done again

ceramic straigtening irons work wonders

It turned her grey hair yellow for a few days. But she does have really thick coarse hair, so that's why he did it.

Oh i see...

well, I don't have coarse hair, I have frizzy hair.. and any body that cuts hair for a living should know that the two are not one in the same. It ruined my hair... it just littler stuck to my scalp, i did hot oil treatments for like two weeks to try to get any life back into my hair, it dried it out so bad. Needless to say, that woman quit cutting hair, and I had already quit her long before that!
