Okay, this is the poll in which you can vote for the President of the United States. And the five people up for running are:
Frasier Crane (from Cheers and Frasier) Doc Brown ( from the Back to the Future trilogy John McEnroe (a tennis player - "You cannot be serious!") Norm Peterson (from Cheers) Elvis Presley (a great singer) All of these are great people. I will list their merits: Frasier Crane - the man is a psychiatrist. He's very intelligent and always tries to help people (although sometimes he interferes when he's not needed and his help backfires.) But he means well, and despite his pompousness, he's a kind, likeable, intelligent man, who is also extremely ethical and I believe him to be an admirable person. Doc Brown - now this man is an eccentric genius! We need more people like him! He turned a DeLorean into a time machine and his 17-year-old friend Marty went back in time to 1955. Doc is kind, loyal, brave, slightly crazy, and a genius. He'd be an excellent president. John McEnroe - hey, the guy was great to watch in the 1980s. He's gentler now, although still retains his temper. He also seems very intelligent and hey, he just seems to be an interesting person. Norm Peterson - this is the guy who comes into Cheers, says, "Afternoon, everybody" and the whole bar roars back, "NORM!" Everyone knows his name! He's one of the most likeable, down-to-earth people ever. And hey, he needs a job that pays well so that he might be able to start to pay off that enormous bar tab. He's also not going to take up residence in the White House - if elected, he'll remain in Boston so he can continue to spend his time in Cheers. He'll run things from Cheers. Elvis Presley - he's Elvis. It's be great to have a hip-swivelling, singing President! Anyway, I love all of these people, but I've already stated that I'm behind Mac. So my vote goes to John McEnroe. Although, I'd love any of them to be in charge; they'd all be great presidents. So here we are. You can start voting! |

So now we have a tie between John McEnroe and Frasier...incidentally, in the last episode of the fifth season of Frasier, John McEnroe was the guest-caller on Frasier's radio show - he was a guy named Patrick who thought his wife was having an affair.

I voted for Elvis.
Since he liked Cadillacs, he would probably pass a law called, "A Cadillac on every corner." Maybe he could do something about today's "music," like record some more of his songs. |

An intriguing slate, I must say, but my vote would have to go to Mr. Peterson:
He's an uncomplicated sort. Except for the occasional row with the missus, problems finding his niche and paying his bar tab, I think Mr. Peterson, ironically, will have the knack for getting things done without having to over-analyize minutiae. Not that he will do them himself, mind you, or necessarily delegate authority. He will make quick decisions and his minions will carry them out. Knowing that he is not mean-spirited, his decisions will benefit people. The price of oil? Who cares? He will protect consumers from the beer gougers. No, Norm Peterson's my man!
