Tomorrow is Fathers Day. I am sure there are others who may no longer have the joy of having their father here with them. I lost my father to cancer in 2004. I miss him terribly.
Recently, the father of my two daughters also died of cancer. Tomorrow will be their first Fathers Day without him. Jrnygrl gave me a wonderful idea and i would like to share it with you. She told me abt attaching a beautiful card addressed to their father to a helium balloon and release it. this way, they can still celebrate the day with their father and remembering him. I thought this was so special and a great idea. I wanted to pass it on to others who may be in the same predicament. Are there any other ideas or suggestions you would like to post or share with us as to how you have celebrated this day when your father is no longer here? |

I always treasure the home movies my dad made when I was little. Those on the 8/16mm format with the projector whirring on the back, transferred to video or dvd of course.

My father is no longer with me, but he is not dead. Sometimes Father's Day brings back not so good memories, so I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. It'll probably just be a bad day.

I got my dad some coffee for Father's day. I asked him what he wanted for Father's day and that's what he told me, so I was like, okay I'll get you that.
My aunt thought coffee wasn't a "real gift". Whatever that means. My dad was happy with my gift though, so that's all that matters. To me, he's the best father in the world.

I miss my father so much. I did talk to him today...told him I loved him, missed him and wished him a Happy Father's Day.

This thread is gonna make me cry again...and my own dad is asleep in the next room. That balloon idea sounds sweet.

Hi,
For fathers day. I sent my dad a $50 gift certificate to Cabello's. And also made him a batch of Crescent Rolls, and some Rasberry Jam. And also a plate of Brownies. He was happy. |
