Post 80s Toys

I thought that this would be a fun topic to start since we have been talking about 80s nostalgia quite a bit lately.

What was your favorite toy of the 80s? There were so many old toys I had then that I don't think they make anymore. My faves were:

- My original Star Wars toys (OK, late 70s, but close enough)
- My sit and spin that I was saving forever and ever since I loved it so but my stupid brother sold it to one of these yuppie toys of yesteryear stores for $5. Sorry, just a little bitter about that one!
- Strawberry Shortcake dolls
- My Little Pony
- As a tomboy, I had a few kewl boy toys too, like my Stomper Truck collection
- I had alot of He-Man Action Figures
- My A-Team punching bag
- And I was probably a little old to be collecting these when they came out, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I had several shoeboxes full of Garbage Pail Kids.

Some of my favorite toys were:
-Cabbage Patch Kids
-My Little Pony
-Strawberry Shortcake kids. I loved Strawberry Shortcake. I had all the dolls, sheets, a bike and I was even Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween.
-Pound Puppies
-Care Bears
-Fischer Price record player (I kept it and it still works after all those years of use!)
-Legos, but I didn’t have very many so I was always jealous of the boy next door who had a huge collection.

coily2: I wish I still had my sit and spin too. My sister and I used to both get on it at the same time and spin as fast as we could to try to make each other fall off. A classic.

Well, I grew up in the 90's, but I had a lot of hand-me-downs from my sister, who was born in '83.

-Quints (Possibly 90s, I dunno, I just know I loved 'em to death!)
-The Strawberry Shortcake matching game where you spin the spinny thing and get a card with a Strawberry Shortcake character... anyone know what I'm talkin' about?
-My Little Ponies
-My Fisher Price record player
-My Snoopy slushi maker (I think that was 90s)
-Any McDonalds toys. I loved those plastic Barbie doll toys. They were the coolest.

------------------
Shirley: Well, Laverne is sort of childish
Laverne: Childish? Childish? Coming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat?
Shirley: At least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!
Laverne: Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!

Michael: At what time was I born, Mother?
Mrs. Darling: Why, you were born at two o'clock in the nighttime, Dearest
Michael: Oh Mother, I hope I didn't wake you!

OMg, I think I had all the Strawberry Shortcake kid nostalgia ever made! And, I LOVED My Little Pony, so I had a lot of that, but I'm probably gonna have to give it all up to my -3 and 6/7 week old sister...

"For the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Psalms 100:5

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17

I loved my toys!! I was born in 80 so there is a closet full of 80s toys. Let's see:
Cabbage Patch Kids
My Little Ponies
Legos
Care Bears
Roller Skates
Strawberry Shortcake Bike (This was the one with training wheels and it had a basket!)
Pound Puppies
Popples

I can't think of anymore, but I probably could go through that closet and find some more of my favorites!!

Did anyone have the Strawberry Shortcake doll that when you squeezed her belly her breath would smell like strawberries? I totally had all of the Star Wars toys (too bad I didn't keep them) and He-Man.

I know what you're talking about. I had that game. The little character cards fit in the spinner and you used a little strawberry to try and stop the spinner on the character you wanted. I completely forgot about that game until just now.

Lesliem - I bet we had the same strawberry shortcake bike.
