I think if this show started around 1973 it would have had atleast 4 seasons like Chico and the Man but the fact that the Network needed a New Hit comedy by time this show premered, it was cancelled after 2 seasons. By 1977, Sanford and Son was coming to an end and Chico and the Man lost it's Star to Tradegy so CPO Sharkey just started at the wrong time. It's a shame it wasn't thought of 3 years Earlier.

I think the Don Rickles Show sitcom started in 1972 and it couldn't been saved. CPO was preety good, a lot better than I thought it would be.

I think the Don Rickles show was a CBS show. I was saying if CPO Sharkey had aired after Sanford and Son it would have lasted about 4 or 5 years |

oh ok,
Another thing is it had many different time slots. From what I have read it seemed to have switched a lot from 8:00 to 9:00 For a show with two seasons it had 7 different time slots. |

Yeah I think if this show started in 1974, it would have had a longer run. When it started Sanford and son was in it's last season |

I think that's true. C.P.O. Sharkey was a good show. I remember I was glad when it came back for it's second season and I didn't even mind it replaced The Sanford Arms.

I just don't understand why NBC would have Sanford Arms as a LEAD IN and it was in it's first season. They never even tried moving that show around they just took it off-lol Must have fell into the 100's-lol |

In the late 70's I noticed NBC almost had no sitcoms at all. It might have been doomed anywhere it was put. It seemed like all NBC had was dramas

Not counting Chico and the Man because it was ending at the time only Different Strokes and Facts of Life were successful.
