Your Hometown Tourist Attractions

I thought this ought to be a fun thread. Why don't we post photos of the best touristy attractions from our cities.

I will start first....

Today was the first time I actually rode on our world-famous tram, The Sandia Peak, and I have lived in my city ALL my life! It's claimed to be the world's longest tram, and its highest elevation point up on our east mountains (the Sandia mountains) is about 10,375 feet high. During our ski season, it's one of our most-popular ski resorts as well with beautiful blankets of snow.

Altogether, it was about a 15-minute ride each way going up and going down. The tram car traveled on cable wires at about 13mph of speed. It stopped at the top of the Sandia mountains where we got off and walked around. Then we made it back down at the foot of the mountains to the loading dock area.

Anyway.... here are some photos I took with my digital camera. I am amazed they came out so clear considering there was no light bounce-back from the glass reflections of the windows.

Well... here they are! If anyone is ever around Albuquerque and want to check them out, it would be cool to show you the tram in person!!! It's only $15 per person, so it's not a bad deal.

We don't really have tourist attractions. We have a jail that I've heard people have taken road trips to see because it's where they used to film Prison Break. But other than that, there's not much going on here.

But if you go 45 minutes north, there's Chicago, which is tourist central.

Well we've got the Texas Rangers Baseball team, and Six Flags over Texas. Pretty soon we'll also have the Dallas Cowboys.

Just a few minutes from my house there's the Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto Monument. We used to have Astroworld, but they closed it down last October. There are many other tourist attractions in Houston, though.

I've got the Space and Rocket center 45 minutes away from me in Huntsville, then there's the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals, which is about 15 minutes from me. In my actual city though there are a few civil war battle sites and a civil war cemetary, but other than that just a lot of cow pastures, LOL.

yay! That was fun If you go here at www.lioddities.com you can see all the other weird and even haunted Long Island places (ranging from abandoned house, to graveyards, to haunted insane asylums).

The closest tourist attraction to where I live would have to be Chicago.

Well, people come from everywhere around the world for the air shows

well I live in a very small town that really doesn't have any tourist attractions well we do have a war satute, but that's the only thing tourist like in my town but I live about a hour away from Memorial Stadium (Nebraska Cornhuskers), and about an hour and a half away from The SAC Museum (Air & Space), and 2 hours away from the Henry Doorly Zoo. I also live about 45 Minutes from the Stuhr Museum thats where they filmed the first two Sara Plain and Tall movies and also 45 minutes from Hastings the hometown that started Kool Aid, 1 and a half hours from The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument also in the Western part of the state there is Chimney Rock and Jail Hoiuse rock and even someone made like stonehenge instead they made car Hen\ge.
