Finding Hope

This sitcom is about Terri Gardner (Peri Gilpin), an executive producer of a Chicago morning talk show who's had a dark past. The morning talk show is called GET UP CHICAGO. Terri is best friends with the talk show's host, Janet Donaldson (Jane Leeves). Terri and Janet live in the same apartment complex. The rest of the talk show's staff includes: a sweet and funny cameraman, Mitch Johnson (Rider Strong), a sassy yet smart hair/make-up consultant, Jessica Sanders (Lindsay Price), and an eccentric basketcase of a station owner, Bob Wesley (French Stewart). The talk show gets a new intern to work at the studio, Hope Garrett (Rachel McAdams)--who happens to be Terri's long-lost daughter. Terri's past includes: Terri once married a man (Hope's dad), then they had Hope. He started to (physically, emotionally, sexually) abuse Terri for months after Hope was born, so she took up an alcohol addiction. Terri and her husband divorced, he threatened her life if she told anyone he abused her. He ended up using her not-so-secret alcohol addiction against her when they fought for custody of Hope. He ended up getting sole custody and Terri never saw Hope again until now. Terri invites Hope to move in with her in her apartment, Hope agrees. Terri and Hope get reacquainted and caught up with each other after all these years. Secrets Will Be Revealed About Hope's Childhood.
