Default Making A New Show! Need Ideas.

I just met up with a man who works for a company called "GoldenGate Pictures" and they want me to design a new show for them. They are a small company but the musician has done music for the big movies in Hollywood. I met him at a school thing, he is the father of my son's best friend. Anyway, I also get to star in the show. I wanted to know if someone has any ideas on what the show could be like. He wanted a family/orientated sitcom or drama. Here are my ideas but I would love to have some ideas for the show from all you sitcom fans.

Life and Stuff:

This sitcom revolves around the lives of a middle class family and their daily struggles to get the bills paid, suceed in school, and cope with everyday problems that come up. Usually funny but some episodes will send a very meaningfull message.

The Mair Family Variety Show

This is a show about five kids that move to Hollywood to live with their uncle who works in TV. The kids soon have their own variety show where they sing, perform skits, and do comedy. It also deals with the kids' lived and such.

I like the first one better. Didn't get into hardly any details but that is basically the idea. I have to write scripts for the shows but have a real hard time writing them so if anyone has any scripts they would like to shar I would be more than thankfull to read them and get a fresh idea.

The second wouldn't make it on the air the first sounds better

He said he is in talks with a local channel about putting it on the air. I changed the whole story around though. Here it goes....

The story revolves around a newly married couple, Hilton and Karen. Karen is now working in a beauty salon after high-school, but Hilton dropped out but recieved a job from his father-in-law in his construction business. The two have only been married for three months, and they do struggle with money. But one night they recieve a phonecall that Hilton's brother and sister in law have been killed in a car wreck. Their children are going to be sent to California to live with their other uncle to live but until everything settles down, the 7 and 5 year olds must live with Hilton and Karen temporarily. After a while, the kids get attached to them and they end up staying. Karen's brother Jeff lives with them too. He works part time at the construction business and helps pay the bills and such. Jeff is also a hard worker and the kids really like having him around. The family deals with normal problems and everyday struggles.

How does that sound?
