I'm surprised the last episode resolved all loose ends in one episode rather than a two parter or four parter. Do you all think the ending would have been different if the ending were stretched over a few episodes or was it fine as it was?

What would have been a good spinoff of Good Times if one was created?

They say the ratings weren't good then and the show was cancelled, so I think they were just trying to wrap up everything quickly. I don't know that a spinoff would have worked being that ratings were already so low.

And even when the show was doing well, there still wasn;t any supporting characters who was strong enough to have their own series

I guess they could have had a show about Bookman going to apartments and fixing the toilets like he did in the episode where Frank asked Willona to marry him.

I would've made it a two-parter - where we actually SEE the posh new apartments...it would've been nice to see them shut the lights off and close the door on the old, empty apartment as well.

At least Good Times wrapped up their loose ends...unlike other long-running, popular shows. Even The Jeffersons can't claim that. Did Maude have a real finale?

It would have been nice if there had been a reprise to Good Times. In the same manner that What's Happening Now was a reprise to What's Happening. This way we would see the new, radically changed lives of our beloved characters. What do you think?

Me too. Can you imagine a mid-80's version? LOL. Florida would still have an afro and Thelma would probably be back to wearing long hair again like she did during the first seven episodes during the last season.

I think Esther Rolle would have gotten rid of the fro in the mid 80's much like these characters below who once had a fro but changed it once they were in the mid 80's

I don't know Sol, Esther seemed attached to that hairstyle to the day she died. Florida definitely would not have worn orange. She backed off with that during the last season for sure.

There would also be jokes like Wilona saying, "Gramps, Claire Huxtable ain't got nothin' on you".

Penny would bring home Willis Jackson as her steady boyfriend or she will want to join some school for the arts academy in New York. LOL.

^ Penny actually would've disappointed her mama with her "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl - but that was many years yet to come.
