I do too. Fortunately, there's online banking so I can check my current statement. I balance my checkbook every few days to keep it up to date. Before that, I didn't do too good of a job at balancing my checkbook and I would accidentally write bad checks. It's really helpful to be able to check your statement online to see which payments have cleared so that you can check it off in your checkbook. It's really not as hard as it looks...but I agree, it's not exactly a walk in the park. That's part of life though.

i balance my checkbook a couple times a month. it's not worth doing it after every purchase... i've never been remotely close to not having enough money. online banking makes it cake.

I don't really mind getting statements. I like to keep track of how much I have in the bank, so I know I'm not spending more than I can afford to spend. I'm a bit of a savings freak.

I like to keep mine up to date, don't want any bad surprizes. But it can be a
real chore sometimes.

This is the advantage of working at a bank. I can check what's going on in my account every day as it happens. If something seems strange, we can take care of it right away. Me and most of my coworkers have stopped getting statements completely.

Oh No

My rotten credit Union's online keeps malfunctioning, so I'm going to choose another to bank in, just for the online crap alone. I am fed up. I used to balance my old man's checkbook, but for some reason can't balance my own. Maybe it's because it's so horrifying to me that I live on such short funds. I am on financial aid and loans to pay rent and credit card bills.
I haven't been able to get a part-time job and maintain school at the same time.
It makes me sick.

I don't use a checkbook usually, and i keep track of my funds online. And whenever i am worried or want to check i either go online, or just call my bank and they tell me my availabe balance, what is pending etc.
