Cool Loud music in stores and restaurants

How do you guys feel about music in stores and restaurants?

Personally, I don't like hearing loud, obnoxious music blaring over the speakers while I'm trying to shop or eat and I refuse to patronize any place of business that feels the need to force their tastes in music onto their customers. Of course, I find that stores that play a lot of that rap, hip hop, and current pop that gives me huge migraines are generally stores that don't sell anything of interest to me anyway.

I hate it. It can ruin my entire shopping or dining experience. I won't go to a restaurant near us, The Texas Roadhouse, because the music is too loud.

As for retail stores, I've noticed the music is blaring a lot when the young staff is there alone.

I really don't like it when the music is blasting at a bar. I honsetly don't see how people can have a conversation when you have to shout every word.

I enjoy hearing happy pop tunes while I'm shopping or eating out, as long as it isn't blaringly loud. I normally find myself singing along or even dancing to the music (what a dweeb!!!) I definitely don't like hearing twangy country music or heavy metal while shopping or eating, however...

I love the Texas Roadhouse. I don't get there to often but I love their food. It does get a bit loud in there but the food is worth it.

I've been in that store ONE time and it was almost too much. Do they try to run people out of the store with the loud music? That doesn't make a lot of sense. But yeah, their music is incredibly loud.

They're trying to attract the clubheads(hence the lighting), the trendy teens are their target market. when i shop in there i dont mind it, they play good music, but 8 hours on register and floor with it is too much.

I read an article about this. Some restaurants do it on purpose, by cranking up the music or the air conditioner customers will eat and leave. No sitting around and using up space. Come in, eat and leave. Next.
