Cool IS IT JUST ME, OR DID THE ACTORS DRESS LIKE THEIR CHARACTERS?

WHILE WATCHING NANCY, LISA AND MINDY ON THE "TODAY" SHOW AND ALL THE OTHER INTERVIEWS THEY DID TO PROMOTE THE DVD'S, I COULDN'T HELP BUT LAUGH AND THINK THAT'S SOMETHING JO, BLAIR AND NATALIE WOULD HAVE WORN!

NANCY WORE BLUE JEANS AND HEELS, LISA WORE PUT TOGETHER "FANCY" OUTFITS, AND I THOUGHT MINDY'S LOOK WAS LIKE WHAT AN EXTRAVAGANT JOURNALIST MIGHT'VE WORN.

WHILE WATCHING THE SECOND SEASON, I WAS ALSO REMINDED OF BLAIR'S COMMENTS TO JO ABOUT HER JEANS & HIGH HEELS, WHILE WALKING TOWARD THE CHUG-A-LUG BAR, AS WELL AS THE MENTION OF "THE TODAY SHOW". LIFE IMITATING ART OR ART IMITATING LIFE?

WITH MY QUIRKY SENSE OF HUMOR, I JUST FOUND IT AMUSING AND LAUGHED

It looked their career goals have been answers. Never out of character, but always in character.

Lisa mentions in her book The Facts of Life and Other Lessons That I Learned From My Father that she actually hates dressing up. She said that she picks her clothes based on comfort rather then looks. Which would be the direct opposite of Blair.

As far as Nancy and Jo are concerned, I think there is a lot of Jo in Nancy. Even if Nancy is the last person in the world to admit it.

Yeah, I've always heard that Lisa is actually close to the exact opposite of Blair in just about every aspect. I think that comes down to clothes too. Sure, Lisa knows how to look put together but I can't ever see her going the designer route that Blair would go or worrying about what her clothes cost. But I can see her choosing not to wear things like blue jeans while doing interviews on national television.

I think Nancy definitely prefers casual dress now but I remember back in her Lifetime Intimate Portrait that they said as a little girl she actually was the exact opposite and liked to wear dresses which I think was part of why she liked modelling. I can't ever see Nancy quite going the camoflauge and flannel shirt route in real life, but she is definitely a very simple dresser. Personality wise, I think she's got some similarities with Jo, but Nancy seems to have a lot less edge and a lot more of an even temperment. If she is to be believed, she's also a lot shyer.

Mindy is the more bohemian of the group which I guess fits.

But it is sort of funny. I noted that jeans and heels thing too. Now if only Lisa had pointed it out.

Default Nothing to wear

Lisa wrote on her website when she learned that she would be doing TV interviews to promote the DVD release, she felt panicked because she had "nothing to wear" and she was the heaviest she'd been in her adult life, aside from being pregnant.

While the travel, meal, and hotel expenses are taken care of by Sony, none of girls is, as Lisa wrote, "making one red dime off the DVD release." Lisa felt comfortable ordering an expensive meal because it was the only compensation she'd be gaining.

Are you kidding? Blair has always been a favorite since......since.....a bunch of boys had crushes on her and girls like her feisty attitude a bit.

I always had a crush on Lisa. There was much less media attention in the early 80's, but I would have loved to see in an interview situation how different Lisa was from Blair.

From everything I've read about her, Lisa was a very shy, down-to-earth person in those FOL years, unlike her onscreen persona, Blair.

Whether Lisa was fat or thin, it didn't matter to me. All I could see was a babe!
