Default Found out why Gary Coleman was not seen in the beginning of 1981-82 season

Here is the reason you saw Kim fields instead of Gary Coleman in the beginning of season 4

Gary Coleman was in a Pay fight with NBC. Gary Coleman sought on October 6, 1981, to renegotiate his contract with Tandem Productions, the independent outfit packaging the popular NBC sitcom. Coleman's starting salary for Diffrent Strokes was $1800 a week. His lawyers contend that even though his salary has increased, the fantastic success of the show is not properly reflected in Mr. Coleman's salary. Brandon Tartikoff, newly installed president of NBC Entertainment, conceded that "without Coleman" the show would now be commercially viable, and whatever shell of a show would be left would be unacceptable. Tandem, meanwhile, countersued it's invaluable star for five million dollars in damages. The First episodes of the show excluded Coleman, who was biding his time at his Los Angeles home.

Great. Now if somebody can explain what Tootie had to do with being in the Drummond house we can clear this whole thing up...

I do know it was explained arnold was here or there...Eating Dinner at Dudley's ect. His departure was obvious though.

But Tootie?

Couldn't that Webster kid fill in for a few weeks?

I know I just don't understand why she was chosen for a replacement for Gary. You would think that they would just expand the role of Willis and Kimberly until He returned
