You are sort of comparing apples to oranges here.

This is unbelievable! How can you even think about comparing Whitesnake to GnR??? Gun's n Roses are one of, if not THE, best band ever. They kinda lost it a bit latterly but their debut album is a true classic.
Guns'N'Roses for ever!

LOL. I agree with Mossop. Whitesnake can only dream about dreaming to be as good as G N'R.

G N' R isone of the best bands ever (musically and overall) no matter what anyone thinks of their lyrics or of Axl's antics.

(at least, they were great back in their heyday. Haven't heard any of their new stuff yet so I am with holding judgement on it).

You should really be comparing Whitesnake with Warrant, NOT with Guns N Roses. Whitesnake doesn't even come close to Guns N Roses.

LOL, Cokies! I was actually going to post that you should compare Whitesnake to White Lion, but hey, Warrant, White Lion, it's all the same Camaro Rock....

"Sweet Child O Mine" or "Here I Go Again"
(weighing the hands right now). I can't believe they would compare. Oh, and all those "Camaro Rock", "Hair Metal" bands are the most fun to make fun of. Sebastain Bach...ha!

Not to butt in, Cokies and coily2, but I saw something on The Simpsons today that amused me and made me think of this thread.

A band was on stage and said something like this:
(first band member): "Hey everybody, we're Whitesnake, are you ready to rock?"
(second band member): "I thought we were Quiet Riot."
(third band member, the drummer, stands up and points to the logo on the center of his drum): "It says on the drum that we're Ratt."

I found that quite amusing, especially since they could have gone of for several more minutes trying to figure out what band they were!

A little snippit about Whitesnake, they used to be cooler in the early 80s when they released all their albums on minor labels (look for them in bargin bins at a store near you) and I thought it was more original. When they re-studioed some songs, like "Here I Go Again", they imitated the hair metal sound that was perfected by your Def Leppards and your Motley Crues of the world. The original stuff had a cool late 70's mellow sound to it. But, of course, money led them to sell out.
