Okay, I don't quite understand the technology, so I might be off here. But...
Amazon.com lists there as being 4 discs in the DVD set. 676 minutes run time. Seasn 2 had 4 discs, and it's listed at something like 540 minutes run time. Even if all 26 episodes were 25 minutes long, 26x25 is 650. That's about how long season 2's were, well actually the episodes were a tad less without ads. Season 2 ran 536 minutes. Season 3's are a bit shorter, becasue that's when networks started to add a few more ads in between scenes, I think. So, it's possible they have plans to do some sort of extras, but they just haven't announced them yet.Of course, I could be wrong and this could just be an approximation, but that seems like a high approximation. It surely isn't the mazimum possible run time because, as I said, there are 4 discs, just as there were in season 2. Unless, of course, they were listed as 676 minutes till release and then the actual run time was given, which is possible. |

Sorry, that was wishful thinking on my part. Got an e-mail reply from tvshowsondvd.com that confirms there are no extras. The box says something like 580 minutes or so, from what the fellow said, but I'm legally blind so couldn't see that. Either way, amazon.com was wrong with 676 min. And I don't know why it says "episodes only" on the subtitles when all there is is episodes.
*However*, he also said that Wwarner Brothers wants to do them but none of the stars are interested in doing extras. That, to me, is a cop-out. You don't need stars to do extras. You can get a guest to do a commentary - like, what if the boy who played Rusty had done one for "Secret Admirer" or Terror in tanner Town"? That would have been cool, I bet. ("Boy, Danny's lucky he never had any boys, huh? Girls play so much neater. Man, he looks like the mud monster from that later season...Uh oh, I forgot about that, oh, the shampoo, ha ha, that was a winner!" That sort of thing would have been great. Who cares if you can't get one of the top stars?) I'll still buy it, though, at least they're uncut. My favorite are 3-6, don't mind 7 but don't love it, and I might have considered it, but I might stop at season 4 if they're going to keep doing this. Anyone's better than nothing. I even thought the comedy impressions with cartoony additions was very creative for season 3, though there could have been other extras, too. |
