I had heard about this and checked an old newspaper tv guide microfilm to confirm it and they actually reaired episodes from season 1 in the summer of 1981. Of course since there were only 16 episodes in season 2 and there was a writer's strike delaying the start of season 3, there was a seven month gap between Brian and Sylvia on March 25 and Growing Pains on October 28. I wonder why season 2 only had 16 episodes. I know there was an actor's strike, but most other established shows had the usual 21-24 episodes, it was probably NBC not giving it a full order since its season 1 ratings weren't good.

I bought a heck-load of 80's TV Guides today at a flea market, and I find that they reran the sex education episode on Sept. 2, 1981.

I was about four and then five and remember it being on in the morning. I think in December of 1982 and it was morning and Jo was protecting Blair from the tough girl in jail. I also do remeber Tootie telling the girl "so long, turkey". I also remember Different Strokes being on the weekday schedule as well.

I don't know for sure when they started showing Jo episodes, but using math, if they ran all 13 1st-year episodes, the 1st Jo episode would've been on Dec. 30. |
