Default Anyway of stopping a VHS's picture from shaking?

I am transferring my VHS collection to DVD that last couple of weeks and for some reason it seems like the VHS's picture shakes. Is there anyway to stop it from doing that? It is preety annoying. Not all of mine do it just the ones I taped on with my old VCR.

The shows I tape in slp mode are the ones that shake the worst for me. I used to tape a bunch in that mode just to save money but it probably wasn't a good idea.

Upgrade to a better vcr. You'll be amazed at the improvement these machines will make with your old tapes

JVC HR-S7600U, JVC HR-S7800U, JVC HR-S7900U
JVC HR-S9600U, JVC HR-S9800U, JVC HR-S9900U, JVC HR-S9911U
JVC SR-V10U, JVC SR-V101US

I was able to find a clone of the 9800 machine under the name GoVideo (instead of JVC). Exact same model at half the price. It's done wonders with some of my older tapes.

I got a Panasonic DMR-ES35V which has the VCR built in it already. You would think with all that money I put into getting it the VCR would be better quality. Now knowing that the VCR isn't the best I should have gone with a DVD-R without the VCR built into it and just attached one of the VCR's you just mentioned. Oh well.

This is what I bought. http://www.videodirect.com/panasonic...-recorder.html

it can often be corrected

try using a vcr that has a MANUAL TRACKING Adjust as opposed to AUTO TRACKING

automatic, often just sets all tapes up the same way and if u use manual tracking u can often fix the problems by hand!

That's only if it was recorded on that VCR

I have a Panasonic AG-1980 SVHS vcr and this cleans up tapes that would play with jitter/shakes on other vcr's, quite well. It is much better than any other vcr I have used and yes, I have owned JVC, SONY, MITSUBISHI and TOSHIBA.

The Panasonic AG-1980 or AG-1970 are also very highly regarded VCR's.
Hard to find any around though.
