....and they both ended up being true friends to him to the end. As nasty as he was to them both, they loved George Jefferson and they both considered him as a friend reguardless if he called them honkies or weirdos. They were colorblind and he wasn't. George had friends early on and he was too ignorant to realize it. Remember that KKK episode? Both Willis and Bently had George's back, and I looked at them as true friends of George. He called them all kinds of names outside of their race, and they had his back when a KKK member called him outside of his. George had friends in his presence whether he wanted to admit it or not. They were good guys. George had it made, a loving wife, a son, a business, and unexpected friends who he didn't like. So, George Jefferson, if you want to slam the door in someone's face, do it in one of these people's face, people who didn't like or respected you!

George was ignorant for a long while, but that is what made him funny. Once he started repricating their friendship, the show became stale.
