Greetings,
I just wanted to know if the Campbell disappearence out of North Bay, ON was ever profiled on UM. It's a Canadian case that happened in my hometown, about 5 to 10 miles from where I live. Alan and Margaret Campbell vanished from their cottage on Trout Lake here in Northern Ontario on or around May 29, 1956. The local newspaper here just published a special 50th anniversary commemorating the dissappearence. A partially cooked meal was left behind on a wood stove. To my knowledge no sign of them or their boat ever surfaced. Nobody knows what happened to them and the case still officially remains open. They apparently left their ten year old daughter June walking the road alone, seen by a neighbor. Why would they leave a child? Theories run the gamut from a UFO abduction to purposely vanishing without a trace to murder. A note from an anonymous writer arrived at the newspaper here in North Bay stating The Campbell's were murdered and a similar note arrived in 1991 at a police staion claiming the same thing, with a map. I know the case was profiled on 'Creepy Canada', our own little mystery show we get up here. I have both newspaper articles about the case. Naturally, it has sparked interest in me for two reasons: 1. It happened in my hometown. 2. And, of course, I am an avid mystery fan. Just wanted to know if it has ever been profiled on UM, if so, I'd like to get my hands on a copy. Thanks, Garrett greatgarrett@hotmail.com |

Garett,
That is certainly an interesting case but I'm afraid I don't recall it ever being portrayed on UM. |

That does sound like a really interesting case. It doesn't sound familiar to me at all. Do you have a link to that article? I'd like to read it if possible.

^^ Yes, they found a couple skeletons in the lake from which they supposedly disappeared. There is a very good chance it could be Allen and Margaret Campbell.
Here's a link to the local newspaper article here where I'm from: http://www.nugget.ca/webapp/sitepage...News+%2D+Local Enjoy! Hope that helps. Cheers |

This is a good example of how in many cases, the simplest answer is the right answer.

Wow Garrett, glad to see the case closed here and hopefully the remains will soon be given to the family so they can receive a proper burial. Glad to see it has finally been found out what happened.
