Default Inaccurate Photos of TV characters on DVD Cover

I wonder why the Photos of Characters on the front of DVD is always screwed up? Is there any show that the Photo of the character matches on every season released on DVD? I know season 1 of Three's Company DVD cover had the Season 4 Phot and Season 1 of Good Times had the Season 3 Photo. So is there a show out that had all photos correct for every season? Or do these Production companies just find a photo from anywhere to put on the front cover?

Punky Brewster has stayed the same from 1984 to 1987, and will probably remain so for the duration of '88 - '89.

Some tv dvd companies have zero creativity!

The Sitcoms Online review said that they put the wrong house on the Married... with Children fifth season DVD cover. Sony, what idiots!

That's annoying to me. I want each season set to have pictures from only that season. On the back of "Hogan's Heroes" they had a pic of the Baker character. However, he didn't join the show until it's final season.

NewsRadio has been doing fine. Seasons 1 & 2 (which are together) has a nice season one shot. Season 3 has a nice season three shot. However season 4 has a bunch of pics from season 3 just pasted together.

That's the good thing about SBTB:TNC. Each season had a different cast, so the cast pics had to be from the correct season. lol

I don't like any of the Taxi covers either. They're not all accurate with each season. And in season three, it looks like Bobby was just pasted into a cast photo, which he was not originally in.

It looked like Isabel Sanford was pasted on the front cover of season 5 of the Jeffersons

I never really noticed this problem.

You would think that it wouldn't be that hard for them to get pictures of the right seasons.

I'm pretty sure that the Will and Grace DVD's have the correct photos for each season... ditto, Friends.

I want to know why they left Mildred off the Season 4/5 cover. Granted she's not a leading role but she was part of the team and she was on Season 3's cover!

A few of the M*A*S*H DVDs have covers where the characters look like they were "photoshopped" together. The season seven cover looks awful.

And M*A*S*H season ten uses a shot from the fourth, fifth or sixth season (one can tell because B.J.'s cheesy mustache is noticeably missing).

The menus for The Complete Fourth Season of Dallas feature Season Five cast shots.

Glad to see it isn't only ME that hates this!!!!!

White Shadow S2 has a different cast in the pic!!

Seinfeld is so utterly generic. NONE of the pics from any season match, they are just random shots and that really bothers me, as does the exact wording from one season to the next as far as the extras etc.

Columbo may be the worst offender of all (not Falk anyway, some of the covers are from him 30 years later!!!!!!!!

It varies quite a lot from show to show. The ones in my collection which stay (roughly) true to how they looked in each season are All In The Family, Frasier, 3rd Rock from the Sun (UK versions, not US) and possibly Cheers, although on some sets (e.g. Season 4), some characters are missing.

One of the main ones that doesn't show accurate photos is The Golden Girls. Some pictures look like they were taken before Golden Girls even started...especially Betty White. Furthermore, most of the photos of Estelle Getty do not feature her glasses, which she always wore on the show.

The most boring covers, for me, are Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond. Seinfeld uses photographs from Season 9 all the time and the designs are always the same. ELR uses exactly the same photos on each one, the only difference being the colour of the boxes!
