Inga Swenson also played Ben Cartwright's second wife, a lovely blond Swedish
immigrant. She was Hoss' mother and died during a brutal Indian attack (as
retold in an episode of BONANZA).

It's kind of weird seeing the mushroom cut Inga in the 80s than the pictures shown here. She looks really stunning with long, like an angel almost.

Default Believe me....

...I have a copy of Inga's Liberty album...and she had a GREAT singing voice.
That's why she was so good as a Broadway actress and performer. By the end of the '70s, she could only find "character parts". So, she became "Gretchen Kraus", and let her talents do the rest! Too bad most people only know her from "BENSON", though.......

Inga also played in an episode of Soap, Benson's parent show.

Yes, she played Ingrid Swenson, Corinne's biological mother.
She really does look like an angel with her long flowing blond hair.

Kraus is such a great character. I love the relationship she and Benson have. He can never get away with a smart comment if she's within earshot.

She was stunning in those photos. The poor woman lost her son in a motorcycle accident in 1987, the year after Benson wrapped. I think of that a lot when I'm watching Benson.

Default yes, that's why....

...Inga got the part of 'Gretchen Kraus' on "BENSON", 'RWCTV'. Susan Harris was so impressed with her performance on "SOAP" that, when the time came to cast 'Ms. Kraus', Inga was probably the first one to get the word from Harris to "audition" for the role.

p.s. sorry to hear about her's son's tragic fate.
