Question Frankie

Hey Forum,

The Benson pages listed Jerry Seinfeld playing Frankie I think in season 2 (1980-81). Can anyone tell me a specific episode he was in? Apparently this was Seinfelds very first television appearance.

Thanks,

Nathan

Hi Nathan..

One of them is "Citizen Kraus", for sure. Can't remember the others!

Default Unfortunately for Jerry....

...his role as "Frankie" was somewhat limited...and the producers and writers felt the same way. He never became one of the "team", and he quietly disappeared in 1981 (as "John Taylor" [Lewis J. Stadlen] had the season before). I KNOW it was a big blow to Seinfeld's personal and professional life at the time...but what MIGHT had happened had he remained a "fourth banana" on "BENSON", instead of starring in his own series???

I kept thinking to myself looking at Jerry and Ted Danson in the episodes he guest starred in, that who would have thought each of these guys would become involved in their own shows, and that for both of them those shows would end up significantly more successful than Benson?
