Default We Need Therapy

We Need Therapy:

This sitcom is about a happily married couple who live in their Connecticut home with their children. This couple is none other than Dr. Jason Milano (French Stewart) and Dr. Pamela Milano (Jan Hooks). Jason is a high school therapist/high school guidance counselor, and Pamela is a marriage counselor. Jason and Pamela are both eccentric and neurotic-enough to annoy and embarrass their two children: Kevin Milano (Drake Bell) and Amber Milano (Miley Cyrus). Kevin is a 17 year old high school senior (and athletic jock), who is also a ladiesman or so he thinks. Kevin is also the lead guitarist for his band, Black Hazel. Amber is a 14 year old high school freshman (and drama queen) who craves attention from boys and acceptance from "the popular crowd". Amber is a part of the Peter Quince Performing Company, of which she can act, sing, and dance in performances.

CAST:
French Stewart as Dr. Jason Milano
Jan Hooks as Dr. Pamela Milano
Drake Bell as Kevin Milano
Miley Cyrus as Amber Milano
Supporting Cast:
Julia Roberts as Anna Coleman
Rami Malek as Jamie Arken
Ryan Pinkston as Ryan Stephens
Scout Taylor-Compton as Calleigh Burke
Amy Bruckner as Kelsey Bishop

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Kevin and Amber are mortified to learn their dad has accepted the position as school therapist/guidance counselor at their high school. Meanwhile, Pamela must counsel a married couple-Jeff and Anna(George Clooney, Julia Roberts) who are at each other's throats and can't work out their marriage without someone getting their feelings hurt.

Ep2: Family Firsts:
Jason get his first student to come to his office for advice. Jason learns she is just received news that her parents are divorcing and she herself is two weeks pregnant. Meanwhile, Kevin gets his first actual-paying gig for the band at a bar, yet thing is they need a parent of each bandmember to be present (since all are underage). Kevin is reluctant to ask his parents, yet Pamela finds out from another band member's mom and volunteers herself.

Ep3: Truth Hurts:
Pamela gets a new married couple to counsel: Bob and Shelly (Andy Dick, Lauren Graham). Turns out, Shelly has Bob whipped and she is having an adultrous affair with another married man. Pamela tries to get Bob alone, so she can convince him to get a backbone and stand up to his overpowering wife. Meanwhile, Amber gets shunned by the popular girls at lunchtime. Amber finds herself fitting with better with a fellow "uncool" girl, Kelsey (Amy Bruckner).

Ep4: Return of A Client:
Pamela gets a call from a former client, Anna (Julia Roberts) who announces to Pamela that she is pregnant with Jeff's child and their marriage is still on the verge of divorce. Pamela feels for Anna, and calls Anna and Jeff in for another session. Kevin and fellow band member/best friend, Jamie (Rami Malek) get into hot water when they are caught attending school intoxicated. Jason gets "the honor" of talking to Kevin and Jamie--but as a guidance counselor not as a father (which is hard for Jason-until they get home).

Ep5: Happiness Is A Virtue:
Pamela and Jason celebrate their 19th anniversary by going to a romantic Vermont bed and breakfast, resulting in Amber and Kevin being left home alone for the weekend. Kevin throws a house party while his parents are gone--which turns out badly after a fight breaks out. Amber stays at Kelsey's house for weekend, after she is "kicked out" by her brother for the weekend.

Ep6: Black Hazel's Dispute:
Principal Weston (Alfre Woodard) allows Kevin's band to play at the Homecoming Dance. Things don't go so well, when a few varsity jocks thinks its funny if they plan to steal the band's equipment the night before the dance. The band members: Kevin, Jamie (Rami Malek), Calleigh (Scout Taylor-Compton), and Ryan (Ryan Pinkston) are anything but happy when they discover their band equipment is stolen. Principal Weston and the furious band members set out to find out who are to blame for the missing equipment.

Ep7: Depression and Deception:
Jason counsels a depressed 17-year-old, who's source of his depression stems from being rejected from all of his potential colleges. After hearing this, Jason pressures Kevin to look into applying to colleges soon. Meanwhile, Pamela counsels a couple who's marriage is based on deception, and neither spouse is happy yet divorce is not an option for them.

Ep8: Friendly Revealations:
Pamela gets another call from former client, Anna (Julia Roberts)--this time she wants to go out for drinks as friends. Pamela accepts, yet understands she can't be Anna's friend and Anna and Jeff's marriage counselor, so she has Anna choose which she would prefer most. After band practice one day, Jamie drops a bomb on Kevin, Calleigh, and Ryan-that he is gay. The three bandmembers are shocked. Calleigh is very supportive and thinks having a gay friend will be awesome, as Kevin and Ryan are there for their friend yet is a little uncomfortable around Jamie since he confessed.

Ep9: Father and Daughter Dance:
Jason and a reluctant Amber attend a father-daughter dance, where they bond and find out that they have more in common than they first thought. Also, Pamela counsels an interracial gay couple (Dan Cortese, Shawn Wayans) who's relationship is stable yet their families' unfondness of them together is starting to strain on them as a couple.
