When George was dreaming of how life would be in the future, he tips the doorman $100 bucks and he says sarcasticly, "Oh goodie, now I can fill my gas tank." Who knew, he wasn't far from the truth? LOL

I know he was talking about the future, but it could have been a commentary on the price of gas back then. Back in the 70s, there was that big gas shortage, long lines, rations, etc.

Perhaps it had something to do with that.

I remember one time we stopped by a gas station back in the 70's and their was a sign saying No Gas Forever. That still makes me laugh.

I remember in the 70's having to go to the gas station on EVEN or ODD number days, depending what your license plate number ended in. People would switch other license plates just to be able to get gas.

I also remember that there were flags. I can't really remember what they meant, but I think there were green and red flags.

That is very possible. Although, it got a big laugh from the audience like the gas prices would never get that high. lol
