Default Scenes that made Robert Reed cringe

There is already a thread of "actual" documented scenes he refused to do (or insisted on changes), but for fun lets try and pick a few that maybe he "did" do but you know in his heart was thinking..... "Oh, my God."

In "Jan, the Only Child", I could see him having a problem with the whole "ho-down/square dancing" aspect of the show. Even for charity, this seemed somewhat out of character and simply was a thread to make Jan feel left out of something. Surely, they could have thought of SOMETHING else she could have been left out of.

I have one plotline.. not sure if it would make him cringe but maybe feel annoyed.

The one was about Love with an Older Man, where Marcia fell in love with the dentist and I would think that RR would have thought it was stupid for Mike not to ask Marcia specifically if she could babysit Friday night, instead he asked, are you free Friday night... I really don't think parents would let their kids no matter how old, uh.. under 18 of course date an older man...

Weird how Alice (can't think of the episode) checks out BOTH Bobby and Cindy's private areas when they are going to go swim at a nudists neighbors swimming pool. Just saw that episode today and was like..........HUH?! WHA!! Just plain weird. I agree about the dentist episode. They really tried the whole "Three's Company" type of miscommunication but it just wasn't done right.

I think I know a good one from "The Hero." (Bobby's response to Cindy in this scene is a little strong for Brady standards, I think the original script might have been tamer) (see below.):

When the family sees the picture of Peter in the paper for saving Tina, they are all excited, and Cindy (who was often made by the writers to sound stupid.) says:

"What's the story say????"

And Bobby says, "About Peter being a hero, don't you know anything dumb-dumb?!"

Carol says, "Bobby, don't call your sister a dumb-dumb."

Bobby says, "Well that's what she is!"

I think that the original script might have had Cindy say, "What's the story say?" and Mike or Carol saying, "It's about Peter being a hero, Honey." Reed was like:

"Well, why would Cindy ask such a stupid question when the answer is so obvious!!??" Once again, Sherwood, you have lost all sense of reality. What's funny and cute about Cindy being stupid?"

Sherwood: "Bob, Cindy's just asking an innocent 8-year old question here, what's the big deal?"

Bob: "Well, someone should call this to her attention."

Sherwood: Well, ok, ok, we'll have Bobby call her a "dumb dumb" and Carol tell her not to, and Bobby say, "that's what she is." But I really think it's better just like it is."

Bob: "Well then I'm not gonna do the scene! Are we going for a cheap laugh, or for reality here? Christ!"

Sherwood: "OK OK Bob, we'll change it."

Bob: 'Thank you" (sacastically.)

im sure he didnt like that scene in sorry right number where carol is talking to her friend martha on the phone and mike says something along the lines of thats allright honey you just keep talking i will just make my call on the pay phone thae problem im sure he must have had was as he leaves the den to go into the family room he starts singing martha martha . i found it funny but im pretty sure that robert and sherwood locked horns about how logical it would be for mike to sing and practally dance his way into the family room to make a phone call
