Looking for "PRUITTS OF SOUTHAMPTON" aka PHYLISS DILLER SHOW
I am looking for any episodes of "The Pruitts Of Southampton" 1966-67 ABC
with the exception of the following 3 episodes: Pilot Phyllis, Queen Of The Road My Sister-in-Law Phyllis Phyliss Diller stars as Phyliss Pruitt a Long Island socialite who has to make he transition from luxuary to poverty when she learns she owes millions in back taxes. During a party, an IRS agent arrives to inform the Pruitts that they are $10 million in debt and that their possessions now belong to the United States government. But they are going to allow the Pruitts to maintain the illusion that they are wealthy, rather than risk a stock-market collapse with the news that they are bankrupt. Also stars Reginald Gardiner as 81 yr old Uncle Ned,Grady Sutton as Sturgis the butler,Pam Freeman as her daughter Stephanie, Lisa Loring as her daughter Suzie,John Astin as Rudy Pruitt,Marty Ingels as Norman Krump and Gypsy Rose Lee as Regina. David Levy (Addams Family) was executive producer and theme song sung by Miss Diller was written by Vic Mizzy (Addams Family). In midseason the format was changed and the show retitled; Jan 13,67 Phyliss Diller Show premiered and the Pruitt mansion was now a boarding house. I saw a clip from this series and it looks hilarious. Would love to get all 30 episodes of this series. Please e-mail me if anyone has this show and hopefully we can work out a trade. Thanks! Todd

Thanks for the heads-up Lamont! Will start checking there. Didn't realize just how difficult it might be to find any of these episodes let alone the entire 30 episodes of the series! But it sounds like a hoot! listen to this one eps synopsis:
First aired: 9/20/1966 Production Code: 2000-02 Phyllis gets the repair bill for her Rolls Royce, and decides the only way to pay it is to hock some of the Pruitt family heirlooms. Putting on a disguise she heads to the pawnshop, only to get arrested. (taken from #3 "Phyliss Beats THe Rap" on TV.COM) In the 3 minute clip I saw, Phyliss was showing someone how anyone can make a turkey....she bastes it in brandy saying something like "how can anything not taste good in brandy?" and then proceeds to put it in an oven...it turns out it isn't an oven but a dishwasher and it starts spinning around getting all wet and sudsy! Very funny!! Well....at least I thought it was pretty funny and it makes me want to see more! (note: the first picture I have posted in the thread is from that scene where Phyliss is looking through the glass window of the dishwasher as her turkey spins around! Love that expression!) |

Apparently this series was in syndication years ago in England so I am wondering if there are any UK fans out there that might have this series?

Thanks for your response ma932588,
I'm afraid I already have that preview as well as the first episode and two more :"Phyllis, Queen of the Road" and a pizza pie making eps that I do not know the title of. I understand that this series ran in syndication years ago in England, so if there are any UK traders that might have recorded some of these eps, please let me know. I didn't release just how difficult it would be to find episodes of this series. Some one somewhere must some of these episodes either on video or 16mm? Still waiting and hoping....

Thanks for replying to my post. Yeah I already have been able to find the 1st episode, but if you have any more and can find them I would definitely be interested in them. I know what you mean about loving the show...I've only seen 3 episodes and I think it's hilarious. Thanks again and hope to hear back from you.

Still looking for episodes from this apparently"lost" series which starred the incredible Phyliss Diller. I already have the pilot first episode, "Phyllis, Queen of the Road" and a pizza pie making eps that I do not know the title of. Does anyone have any of the remaining 27 episodes in any format?
Thanks. |
