Okay, I have the majority of Wings on tape, but since the first and second seasons have came out on DVD I've got the rest I was missing from those seasons and I've noticed a few messups that the writers I guess overlooked or forgot.
In one of the eps, "A Terminal Christmas", they say that Helen's sister's name is Lorraine, and that she lives in Hawaii with her children. Hmmmmm, later she gets her name changed to Casey and gets rid of her kids? LOL Anyone notice anything in the first seasons that later changes? Most shows I realize tend to do this, but it's fun to point them out. |

Good thread idea, Rebel Jess! I thought of something today while watching "It's Not the Thought, It's the Gift" (one of my faves, BTW!). The home movies of Helen's birthday show Brian and Joe's mother, but wasn't she gone by then? I haven't gotten to "Mother Wore Stripes" yet, so I don't remember if they mention how old the boys were when their mother left.

Thanks Kristen!
You know, that's a good point about the boys and their mom being gone. For some reason it's sticking out to me that Joe was 12 when she left, but I gotta get to "Mother Wore Stripes" to confirm that. I do know they were pretty young and Joe had way more responsibility than he should have..so we'll see!

Joe would have been about 12 when Helen turned 11, wouldn't he? The boys who played young Joe and Brian looked between 8-11 years old. Mrs. Mrs. Hackett could still have been around for Helen's 11th birthday.

Yeah, I watched "Mother Wore Stripes" and Joe said he was 12 when she left....so for Helen's birthday it was right before their mother left...I guess that was pretty accurate.

A couple other 'boo-boos' from the writers in the 1st episode--
Brian didn't know who Lowell was although in later episodes, Lowell had grown up with the brothers & Helen. Fay says to Joe "I didn't know you had a brother", but in a later episode where you find out how Joe & Fay first met, Joe tells Fay that his brother ran off with his fiancee. |
