Question Air Conditioners, Fans - How do you stay cool indoors?

Yesterday, we put in the ACs and took out the fans. I can't live without AC in the summer. We've got a 10,000 btu AC in our living room. It will be on constantly. I love how it cools, but I hate the closed in feeling. I wish I had Central AC.

I've got a floor fan in that room for days that it's not too hot.

I don't like AC in the bedroom, so I have a fan on the bureau. We've got a smaller AC in the guest bedroom, where my husband is known to spend half the summer nights there to cool off, lol.

Oh God, here in Fla., I cannot imagine the summers here without central A/C, which I have. At night, I turn it up to about 80 and put my ceiling fan on when I'm sleeping.

Central AC... but my parents are cheap and it isn't on nearly enough. I pretty much always have my ceiling fan on high. I'm so used to being at school where I kept my room like an icebox. But now I'm back here and they throw a fit if I set it to come on at a lower temp.

central ac. I can't stand it being cold, though.

I still haven't dug the air conditioner out of the closet yet, but if the temp continues to rise I'll have to do it soon. My apartment (especially my room) is always hot, and when it's hot outside, it's like an oven inside.
Until I get off my lazy butt and put in the A/C, I have a small fan that sits on my desk that helps keep my room a little cooler.

Isn't it nice how our electric bills double in the summer? I wouldn't care if they quadrupled, I need to be cool in the summer.

New England summers are as brutal as New England winters.

Both: I use the AC at night for sleeping and the fan during the day when i'm on the computer. I have a small room so my plastic fan keeps the room cool enough for me.

I just use a fan. I'm always hot, so I pretty much have it going year round.

So are Upper Midwest summers and winters. It's already 86 degrees right now, and it's supposed to crack 90 today.

To answer the question, central air. There's only one ceiling fan in the house, and it's located in the kitchen. If push comes to shove, I have a small floor fan -- it looks like it doesn't do much -- but when you plug it in, DAMN! It's awesome! It's a metal fan, I hate plastic fans, they don't do jack to keep you cool...so it's great. The bedrooms have VERY VERY VERY excellent floor vents, so they feel like iceboxes in the summertime, and it's awesome!
