Who remembers the game show Rhyme and Reason, a Match Game knockoff that aired on ABC from July 1975 to July 1976?
The show, hosted by Bob Eubanks, featured two contestants and six "celebrity poets". Nipsey Russell was a regular panelist on the show. A root phrase was read and the contestants had to write down a word that rhymed with the last word of the phrase. The first player to score three points won the game and $250. Two games won the match, $500 and a shot at the $5000 Bonus Rhyme. Another root phrase was read and the contestant had to write three words that rhymed with the last word of the phrase. The contesant picked a celebrity, who attempted to come up with the three words in 30 seconds. One word was worth $1000, two words $2000 and all three $5000. Rhyme and Reason was notorious for the final show when the celebrities destroyed the set. its replacement would become of TV's greatest game shows, Family Feud. |

This was a fun, and edgy game show (thanks to Jaye P. Morgan's regular
appearances). The only episode in circulation has Nipsey Russell, Jaye P. Morgan and Jack Cassidy on the panel. Bob Eubanks was the host. |

I remember watching Rhyme and Reason with Bob Eubanks as host and Nipsey Russell as a regular panelist. The name of the show's packager was W.T. Naud Productions. Who was W.T. Naud? It's probably an unsolved mystery, though I read in one source that it was Chuck Barris producing under a pseudonym.
