Default The next season set - How will it be released?

Do you think there is a possibility that they will continue releasing "Facts Of Life" in double-season sets? I was thinking this over and, although we know the reason for releasing seasons 1 and 2 together, I wonder if it could pose a new trend in dvd sales for grouping two-sets together simultaneously. It might not seem probable but since seasons 3 and 4 are the last seasons at Eastland and 5 and 6 are at Edna's Edibles, I thought it would be a well-packaged release for Sony to release.

On the other hand, with so many episodes in each season (more than in the first or second), it seems unlikely.

Just a thought. What do you think?

I think season by season is the reality, but double season is the fantasy.

Course I'd be thrilled with doubles!

It would be nice to see Sony release two seasons per set, but I doubt that will happen.

Default What about those Movies????

I'm wondering if The Facts of Life Goes to Paris will be packaged with season 3 (at the end), or season 4 (at the beginning), or will they forget about this one all together??? Let's hope not, because it is still in part with the series at least in the episode runs.

Good point folbartman! I wonder about the same thing. Hopefully, it will be included. If Sony wanted to gain momentum on the success of their first set, they could package it with a bonus disc with "The Facts Of Life Go To Paris" to keep sales going. I think that played a major part in driving sales of the first set, having 2 seasons packaged together. It was a smart move.

I think packaging "The Facts of Life Go To Paris" as a bonus disk would be genius!!!!!!

Well, they released the First and Second season of Wings together. I think usually when they do doubles though it is just the first two seasons. I think that the rest of the seasons of FOL will be released season by season.

They did the double season sets for "Saved by the Bell" also. But I think the only reason why they did this for FOL was because Season 1 was short, plus who wants a FOL DVD set without Jo?

I'm guessing further releases would be one season at a time though I could see them maybe doubling up the last two if they got that far.

I think there are two reasons behind Seasons 1 and 2 being together. For one, like has been acknowledged, there are a lot of casual viewers of FOL who don't even remember the first season. I know there are many fans of it here, but for the most part that's not the show that everybody remembers. Season 2 is the start of what most people remember so I could see them being worried that enough people wouldn't buy it on its own.

The second reason is just mainly sales. When Sony released 1&2, they really had no idea how it was going to sell. Would people be on the retro kick? Would people remember it fondly enough to buy it? While I don't have sales reports, it seems the sales of the FOL DVD have been strong so now to Sony it might warrant them releasing each season seperately in an effort to capitlize on making the most profit possible. If they know it will sell, they will try to make as much money as possible.

I could see them releasing the last 2 sets together. I'm also wondering if they will continue with extras. I hope to see Charlotte Rae involved in the next set and Geri Jewel.

I think with the amazing sales they have had with this first set, Sony will release Season 3 by the fall. I hope the waiting time between sets is short. They should treat this one like Disney treats "The Golden Girls".

I've read that, overall, the sales of old TV shows on DVD have been quite strong.

With a loyal following and The Facts of Life girls promoting the DVDs on several talk shows, sales will likely be very good. That should justify Sony releasing season 3 before the end of the year. Think of it this way: As much as you want to see next DVD release of FOL, Sony is just as eager for your money!

Yeah, and they've done double season sets of The Adventures of Superman (The George Reeves version) too, except for the first 2 seasons.

And the second. The only reason that happened was because Seasons Three and Four we're only 13 episodes each.

Yeah, you're right. Sorry, for some reason, I thought TAS S2 and S3 were combined. Guess I got mixed up. Yeah, and FOL S1 and S2 only had a total of 29 episodes too.
