The original Star Trek series was cool, but the others stunk. The original Star Wars was like going through hell, but the other 2 were good.

Are you talking about Star Wars: A New Hope?
You are actually saying that the CLASSIC original film was "like going through hell"? Oh my, that's like saying "The Godfather" films were horrible. I don't believe it...

Pshaw! I think I like the Original Series second least. Don't get me wrong, I do like it....personally I think Deep Stink 9 is the worst. But that's because it has a very intricate and involved storyline that spans the whole series, as opposed to stand-alone episodes, like all the other series. So since I didn't watch DS9 from the very beginning, I don't get what's going on alot of the time. I do love Worf tho, and Jadzia.

I am going to go down on the record now as saying that I whole-heartedly believe that Paramount is going to destroy Star Trek. They are running it into the ground, and subjecting it to shameful ratings grabbings ploys in an effort to keep their pathetic UPN network afloat.

I really don't think we need another ST series next fall since Voyager and DS9 just ended, and there is a movie out next summer. I think they need to put it to sleep for awhile so all us rabid ST addicts will be chomping at the bit when a new series comes out. That's how they can get more ratings.

Ya know I read an article where some lady in England did a study that said that ST fans are like heroin addicts, which I found very amusing. I suppose I could post it here if people are interested, it's not very long.

As for Star Wars, I don't think A New Hope was hell, but Empire Strikes Back is my fave. And I think Jar-Jar Binks is a sign that perhaps Star Wars is declining in quality too. I can stomach the ST ratings ploys, even if they are annoying, but mesa just wanna slapa Jar Jar!

Me too, me too. He is an utter disgrace to all things Star Wars. I'm questioning George Lucas, and his story telling methods now after seeing that debactacle known as Episode 1.

I love Star Trek. But I doubt it will last much longer either. Paramount just isn't doing it right any more. (sigh) What ever happend to Gene's legacy?

Star Wars all the way!!! I never got into Star Trek.

One of my best friends loves both and has a life-size cardboard cut-out of Picard that she puts in her dorm room. It's even funnier when she puts her MN Vikings purple felt hat with braids and horns on his head and you can't forget at Easter when she wrapped her pink Easter bunny garland around his neck. It was so funny I took a picture of it!

Star Wars fans, go here, it's whacked: http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,44141,00.html

Apparently, due to some e-mail shenanigans, "Jedi" might be declared a religion in New Zealand, Austrailia, England and Wales, since people entered it as their religion on their census forms!

Does anyone remember The Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, with Chewie's family? They always aired it around christmas time until about 6 years ago. Too goofy for Tv!

LOL! That's hilarious! Gives me an idea about the next census fill-out though...

OK I'm sorry. It's just that I can't understand people that don't like Trek. I should have been more understanding.
