Post People Who Record Shows...BEWARE!!!!

Attention everyone who records stuff with blank tapes. DO NOT use TDK T-120s anymore! The quality is terrible after a while, and they break easily. If you put any of those sticks in it, and you're doomed! It's not worth the $4.00!

Why are you paying $4 for a blank tape? I will under no circumstances pay more than a $1 a tape and I get the premium quality tapes in packs of 8 or 10..

I only use the cheap kind...I record everything in EP mode....I never tape stuff for quality, usually it's because I'm on vacation and need to watch my shows! LOL

Cool

I buy these JVC 6 hour tapes that come in a pack of 10 from Sam's Club and they work just fine. I tape things in LP mostly, but SP sometimes. I used to tape in nothing but EP, but in the long run the quality is bad and I plan on keeping these tapes for a long while.

Question

Do you guys in America have DVD players that can record things as well? Recordable DVD players are coming out here in Scotland in the Autumn. Once we have them we'll never have to worry about useless VHS tapes ever again. Video is already dying out thanks to DVD - about time time too!

Recordable DVD sounds awesome!

Me, I buy the 12 pack of tapes from Sam's Club or the 10 pack from Wal*Mart. They work great. I would prefer the recordable DVD overall though if it were available!

Did you know they sold 10 HOUR tapes about 2-3 years ago? They were at Sam's Club one week and then disappeared the next and I haven't seen them since. Has anyone else seen these? They looked awesome--it was a 5 pack for 15.00.

I have some FOL episodes on TDK T-120 tapes. How long are they good for before they get like wrecked and bad and stuff? Would it be worth retaping the eps as they are playing again? (I didn't pay $4 for mine)

I record on RCA, Maxwell, and Sony tapes. And $4.00?! I never pay for a tape thats more then $2.50. I started buying the RCA tapes for $0.98. And mine last longer. I look over my tapes so I can list the episodes so I know which has which, and episodes from Jan. 2001 last. (I record Three's Company) Episodes of Gilligan's Island which I taped in summer-October 2000 are still working.

Jack: I'm surprised at you. Where would all the great women of history be if they thought like that!? Look at Joan of Ark and wht she accomplished. And, and Florence Nightengale and Madam Curry.
Chrissy: And Lucretia Borzok.
Janet: She posioned people.
Chrissy: Yeah, but she was very goo at it.
